Abstract

The slats are hollow (1) with a male connection (2) on one side which fits into the female connection (3) on the other side, forming a continuous cover of hinged slats which can be wound around a drum (4). The slat has a covering lip (5) running along one of its long edges which closes over the space between two adjacent slats. The slat and the covering lip are made of the same material and may be made in one component by extrusion. Alternatively they may be extruded separately. The cover can be formed in different ways including as an extension of the side wall of the slat or in as an extra thick portion of the flat. The cover may have a side wall allowing it to be clued or riveted to the edge of the slat.
