Abstract

The vehicle seat comprises a back (3) and a seat frame (2) articulated on a support (5) fixed to the vehicle near the frame front. A shock absorber is inserted between the back and the frame rear part. The articulation axis on the support is carried by the seat frame which carries seat occupant's load suspension localised between the frame lateral beams. During a collision vertical loads exerted by the occupant on the seat lower the rear part of the frame from the point H of the occupant relative to the suspension. This engenders a longitudinal constraint from rear to front on the front cross member. The rear part of the seat frame is supported on a fixed support (6) carrying guides for the rear part. The fixed support carries the seat back articulation axis and a guide groove (25) for absorbing the force of the anchoring components (24) of the rear part of the frame on the support.
