Abstract

The lock can be used on all types of furniture and has three separate components. A lock (2) is mounted on the unit (3) and the bolt (19) engages automatically in a strike plate (5) as soon the door (4) or drawer is closed. A control mechanism can be mounted away from the lock and consists of a push button (1) with a moving section (8) and a fixed section (7) designed to prevent the button being pressed accidentally. A sheathed cable (6) joins the two components so that the lock is unlocked by a mechanism integrated in the push button. When the button is pushed the cable is put under tension which in turn unlocks the bolt. The push button has a central stop with a mobile ring attached to a control rod.
