Abstract

  The present invention relates to a device for fixing

stringers on posts.

  In the agricultural sector, in particular, metal fences are made up of posts sealed in the ground on

  which are fixed horizontal beams.

  Until now, the junction of the beams on the posts was carried out using collars and flanges assembled by bolting and, four nuts per beam were necessary. By this process, similar to that used for the assembly of metal scaffolding, the problem of adjusting the spacing also arose

  stringers, each fence having at least two.

  i 5 To remedy these drawbacks, an assembly part was then used comprising a tubular sleeve that can be engaged and fixed on the post and having, perpendicular to its axis, two sleeves in each of which the corresponding heald was engaged. As the heddles are generally in the form of tubes several meters in length, such a method could only be used if there was enough space at one end of the fence to be assembled and could not not to be

  2 5 used to make a separation in a building.

  In addition, two people were necessary to engage the beam, one to lift it and introduce it into the first sleeve and the other to guide the end of said beam during its

  introduction into the sheath of the next post.

  Furthermore, in order for the stringer to be able to be engaged without difficulty in all the sleeves, it was necessary for them to be perfectly aligned, a condition which, in practice, is technically impracticable taking into account the mode of installation of the posts.

  The present invention, which overcomes these drawbacks, is remarkable in that the usual sleeve includes support members for the healds, each consisting of a cradle in which the

  smooth can rest and be immobilized.

  In this way, the positioning of each stringer is effected by a lateral displacement of the latter and not by a

axial displacement.

  Referring to the drawings, it can be seen that the problem consists in making a fence comprising posts 1, sealed in the ground,

  on which horizontal beams 2 are fixed.

  In known manner, tubular sleeves 30 are used which can be engaged on the posts and be immobilized therein at the required height relative to the ground, each sleeve comprising heald support members in number equal to that of said healds. According to the invention, each support member is constituted by

  a cradle 4 made integral with the sleeve.

  To set up a stringer, we lift it, we place it

  above the cradles and let it sit.

  If the alignment of the cradles is not rigorous, it suffices to exert a lateral thrust on the arm to the right of the cradle having a misalignment followed by a pressure downwards to engage it in the cradle. Taking into account the distance separating the posts, of the order of two meters, and the section of the tube

  constituting the stringer, the efforts to be brought into play are negligible.

  Means are provided for blocking each stringer in its cradle. According to one embodiment, the depth of each cradle 1 5 is greater than the height of the heddle. In this way, by exerting a force, at the upper part of the cradle, which tends to bring its two edges closer together, the stringer is immobilized. Such a result can be obtained by two bolts, shown schematically by the axes 5, crossing the wings 4a of the cradles. The aforementioned bolts

  extend above the beam and do not cross it.

  To prevent detritus, generators of corrosion, accumulating above the beams in line with the cradles, the space between the upper part of the beam and the edges

  upper part of the cradle is closed by a cover 6.

  Preferably, this cover is made of a plastic material and it can have the shape of a prism, as shown in FIG. 6, or have a cross section in the shape of an inverted U, as shown in FIG. 7. Holes such as those 7 and 8 are provided on the cover to allow the passage of

tightening bolts.

  Each cradle has, in its median plane, and on its face opposite to the sleeve, an opening 9 through which appear the ends of two heddles 2a and 2b abutted (fig.5). This opening therefore ensures, in the event of

  abutment, that the ends engaged with the cradle have a

equal length.

  1-Device for fixing beams (2) on poles (1) of the type comprising those of sleeves (3) which can be engaged and fixed on the poles and comprising beam support members, characterized in that each member of support consists of a cradle (4).   2-Device according to claim 1, characterized in that   means are provided to block each stringer in its cradle.   3-Device according to claim 2, characterized in that the   1 5 depth of the cradle is greater than the height of the stringer.   4-Device according to claim 3, characterized in that means are provided for exerting a force which tends to approach   from each other the upper edges (4a) of the cradle.   -A device according to any one of claims 2 to 3,   characterized in that the space between the upper face of the heddle and the upper edges of the cradle is filled with a cover (6).   6-Device according to any one of claims 1 to 5,   characterized in that each cradle has, in its plane   median and on its face opposite to the sleeve, an opening (9).
