Abstract

The pivot mechanism has three parts, a sleeve (1) which is attached to the fixing plate so that the sleeve is offset towards the rear of the frame, and a door stop section (2). The sleeve is shaped to hold pivots currently on the market. The fixing plate is held in position by screws so the system can be used in a thin layer of wood. The plate has oblong holes (3) allowing its height to be adjusted. The device is moulded out of a material with the appropriate mechanical resistance and appropriate aesthetic qualities for furniture. The device has two symmetrical stops which allow the door to be opened to the right or the left. The sloping edge of the stops determines the degree to which the door opens.

Description

 The present invention relates to a hardware for furniture allowing the rotation of a door by a socket / pivot system, an unpacking of the socket towards the rear of the frame allowing a saving of material, the stopping in open position of this door, thanks to a system invisible from the outside of the cabinet.

 Traditionally, the door is rotated by means of a pivot and a socket.

This socket is placed in full wood, on the frame of the furniture. Then a hardware is also added to this frame which stops the door in the open position to prevent it from abutting on the frame of the furniture and thus crushing the wood on the front of the frame and the door.

 The traditional system does not make it possible to respond to the constraints of fixing, rotation and stopping the door in a single system, nor to be used on thin outer frames or on frames offset to the front, because the socket must be surrounded by wood to be perfectly maintained.

 On the other hand, certain systems of hinges, hinges, plugs or hinges can be completed with a stop system, but either they are visible from the outside, or they cannot be used for aesthetic criteria in traditional furniture.

 The socket with door stop meets all these constraints.

Indeed, in the present case, the device according to the invention allows in a single system:
- to rotate the furniture door, on the basis of a classic socket / pivot system
The "socket" part of the device (1) is intended to receive the standard pivots on the market, - to stop the door in the open position at a pre-defined angle, this by a stop system (2) one face of which is inclined to match the inside of the door and not to damage.

The device thus makes it possible to solve all the opening angle problems as a function of the inclination and of the position of the selected retainers (2),
- to be invisible in the closed position and it has a completely aesthetic appearance in the open position
(figure 4),
- to compensate for a lack of wood material and to ensure that the "socket" part is held in its cavity by a screw fixing system on the fixing plate secured to the "socket" part (1). The device thus allows a very interesting saving of material (wood) (4), without weakening either the fixing or the rotation of the door.

 The fixing system, by screw, can be associated with an oblong hole (3) in order to be able to adjust the hardware in height and therefore to control the operating clearance of the door.

- The present invention is practical. It is indeed a reversible hardware, usable without any modification for an opening on the right as for an opening on the left. The hardware has two stops for this purpose (2) and the "socket" part can be used on both sides, because its shape is symmetrical along a horizontal axis (Figure 3, 1).

 An embodiment of the invention could however have only one stopper: the hardware would then take two different forms for openings on the right or on the left.

 The device according to the invention is particularly intended for the furniture industry.

 FIG. 1 represents the perspective view of an embodiment by molding of the device according to the invention, by way of example. It shows an embodiment of the 3 parts constituting the inventive device: the "socket" part (1), the retainers (2) and the fixing plate at (3). We also observe in this embodiment, by way of example, reinforcements (5) solidifying the fixing plate of this device.

 FIG. 2 represents a top view of an embodiment of the invention.

 FIG. 3 represents the rear front view of an embodiment of the device.

 Figure 4 shows the sectional view of a door fixed to the frame of a piece of furniture by an embodiment of the device. It represents by way of example, this door in the closed position (solid line) and in the open position (dotted line).
