Description

The present invention relates to a container or container for

  at least one plant in particular, but not limited to, an indoor or indoor plant, which container is provided with space for a nutrient medium for the plant. A container of this type, in the form of a pot of rounded cross-section in terracotta or an elongated box of plastic material, in which several plants can be placed, is generally known. The known plant pot is normally filled with potting compost constituting the nutritive medium. In particular, garden centers and breeders of potted plants are experimenting with an increasing interest in the public all kinds of potted plants, pots and boxes to contain said plants and related products. This public interest is in particular the result of a growing desire to arrange in the house, both indoors and outdoors (especially gardens or balconies), and this attractively, pots or boxes containing decorative plants. In particular, in recent years, we have been able to distinguish certain fashions, for example that of the aforementioned popular terracotta pots, as well as elegant plastic pots or boxes, etc. The object of the invention is to provide a container or container for plants which corresponds to the wish of the public to place indoor plants having particularly decorative effects in

  containers inside or outside the house.

  In order to achieve this object, a container of the type referenced in the introductory part is characterized in that this container is at least essentially in the form of at least one substantially vertical tube comprising an enlarged upper end which is open at its top for receive the plant inside, whereby the outer wall of the tube is shaped like a plant stem. This provides the surprising ability to have all kinds of plants, which by nature do not have a stem, to grow like a "plant to

  rod "at the top of the tube according to the invention.

  This creates a decorative and elegant picture of a plant "with a stem at its base", which plant was previously only known as a "low growing" plant, for example. In connection with this, we observe that only a limited number of plants have a stem at their base. In particular, the outer wall has a color and a texture which correspond to those of a plant stem. Optimally, this creates the impression that

  the tube is actually a natural plant stem.

  A plant provided with an interior pot containing a potting compost constituting the nutritive medium can be placed in said upper part in a simple manner. In addition, this makes it possible to transplant the plant, for example from the greenhouse, in which the plant is potted in another container,

and that in an effective way.

  In a preferred embodiment of a container according to the invention, said enlarged upper end comprises an abutment shoulder extending inwards. When the plant is introduced into the upper end, said plant (possibly with its inner pot) will come into contact with said abutment shoulder and will be supported thereafter, with the result that it is ensured that the plant will be correctly positioned in relation to the tube, and this in all cases. In another preferred embodiment of a container according to the invention, said tube is liquid tight. This makes it possible to fill the tube with water (possibly supplemented with nutrients), whereby this water comes into contact with the potting compost of the plant. If an inner pot is planned, it will include cavities through which water can reach the potting compost. In addition, since the tube is filled with water, it will be positioned on a support surface of a

very stable way.

  In another preferred embodiment of a container according to the invention, said tube is

  placed in a pot or in a box for the plant.

  This creates the decorative effect of a plant stem

  growing in a pot or box.

  In another preferred embodiment of a container according to the invention, said tube extends in the vertical direction from the bottom of the pot or box which contains the plant, said bottom comprising a plug extending towards the interior and said tube being provided with a corresponding hole or orifice on its bottom side. The tube can be easily positioned in the pot or in the box by placing the tube with its bottom hole positioned on

said sheet.

  In another preferred embodiment of a container according to the invention, a cover plate comprising an opening for introducing the tube through it is provided, which cover plate is supported on a flange extending inwards present under the upper edge of the pot or box containing the plant. Preferably, decorative stones are provided on the cover plate, which gives the pot or box containing

the plant an aesthetic aspect.

  The invention will be explained in more detail with reference to the figures illustrated in the drawings in which: FIG. 1 shows a plant pot according to the invention, partly in side view and partly in longitudinal section; Figure 2 shows various ways of adjusting said tube in the pot for the plant shown in Figure 1; and Figures 3 and 4 relate to a method for supporting a cover plate

  used with the plant pot shown in Figure 1.

  Figure 1 shows a terracotta pot 1 of round section, in which a tube 2 of plastic material is provided. The tube 2 is precisely positioned in the pot 1 because it has a "positioning" plug 3 provided on the bottom of the pot 1 which will fit into a corresponding hole or hole 4 provided on the bottom of the tube 2 The tube 2 which can in particular be made of plastic material such as PVC (polyvinyl chloride), PP (polypropylene) or PE (polyethylene), comprises an enlarged upper end 5 in which a plant 7 comprising an inner pot 6 is placed . For this purpose , the cover plate 9, which is shown in plan in Figure 4, comprises cavities 16 through which the wings 15 of the tube 2 can be introduced during assembly. As a result, a relative rotary movement of the tube 2 causes the "retention" of the wings 15 relative to the cover plate 9, position in

Claims (7)

  1 - Container for at least one plant, in particular, but not limited to, a houseplant, which container is provided with a space for a nutritive medium for the plant, characterized in that said container has at least substantially the shape of at least one substantially vertical tube (2) comprising an enlarged upper end (5) open at its top to receive the plant, thanks to which the wall   outside of the tube forms like a plant stem.   2 - container according to claim 1, wherein said outer wall has a   color which corresponds to that of a plant stem.   3 - Container according to claim 1 or claim 2, wherein said outer wall has a texture which corresponds to that of a plant stem. 4 - Container according to one of   claims 1, 2 or 3, wherein said end   enlarged upper (5) includes an abutment shoulder (8) extending inward.   - Container according to any one of   claims 1 to 4, wherein said tube (2) is liquid tight.   6 - Container according to any one of   claims 1 to 5, wherein said tube is placed   in a pot (1) or a box for plants.   7 - A container according to claim 6, wherein said tube extends in a vertical direction from the bottom of the pot or plant box, said bottom comprising a plug (3) extending inward and said tube being provided with a hole   or corresponding hole (4) on its bottom side.   8 - container according to claim 6 or claim 7 wherein a cover plate (9) comprising an opening for the introduction of the tube through it is provided, which cover plate is supported on a flange (10) extending inward present under the top edge of the pot (1) or the box for the plant.   9 - container according to claim 8, wherein decorative stones (11) are provided on said cover plate.
