  The present invention relates to a device for supporting an element of the type of a sunshade, an awning, a walkway, a sign or the like, mounted in a cantilever on the vertical facade of 'a building or similar building, this facade constituting what is known in the art as a "curtain wall", that is to say formed of a wall essentially produced by means of adjoining glazed panels, maintained in a discreet fixing frame,

  attached to the concrete shell of the facade.

  In Figure 1, there is schematically shown under the reference i a fraction of a curtain wall for building facade

or similar building.

  This facade comprises a plurality of glass panels such as 2, arranged in the vertical plane 3 of the wall, these panels 2 being supported in itself known in the art by a rigid frame 3, secured to the structural concrete work of the building (not shown) and comprising in particular, along the vertical longitudinal sides of the panels 2, suitably profiled metal uprights 4, with in particular a

  internal rabbet open 5 to receive each panel.

  The uprights 4 of the frame are joined & appropriate distances by crosspieces 6, forming with these uprights a frame in which each of the panels 2 is applied, these being practically contiguous in the facade, so that, seen from outside, it gives an impression of almost total continuity, only being practically visible the upper edge 7 of the uprights 4, materializing a vertical line on the

  other of the assembly of the corresponding glass panels.

  In a facade & curtain wall, of the kind briefly exposed below

  above, it is frequently necessary, at least opportune, to mount, cantilevered against this facade, an element which extends outwards, such as a sunshade, an awning, a footbridge, sign or other, this element to be secured to the facade and the carcass of the building in order

to be supported properly.

  However, due to the presence of the glazed panels which occupy almost the entire facade, the fixing of such an element in cantilever requires the implementation of means

  individuals as notably provided by the invention.

  In the example shown, the cantilever element in question is a sunshade, generally designated by the reference 8 and which comprises a support structure 9 formed of tubes or profiles 10 suitably joined together to form a set here of triangular shape, the structure 9 extending by transverse lugs 11, extending horizontally and intended to be fixed on the uprights

  vertical 4 of the frame 3 of the glass panels 2.

  The sunshade 8 illustrated in particular comprises two support structures such as 9 (only one of which appears in the drawing), these structures being joined by concealing blades 12, fixed to one of the tubes 10 and extending parallel and in front of the wall facade, being offset from each other, so as to be interposed on the sun's rays and so that their shadow cast on the

  panels 2, appropriately limits the solar radiation received directly. Advantageously, the masking blades 12 can be

  orientable, simultaneously or individually.

  The embodiment of the sunshade 8 is obviously given here only by way of example, FIG. 1 illustrating another variant under the reference 8 ′, comprising a support structure 9 ′ of different shape, on which are arranged the shading blades 12 ', this time not only parallel to each other as above, but superimposed in the direction

  vertical in front of the wall facade.

  According to the invention, the support structure 9 of the cantilever element is joined and fixed to the vertical uprights 4 of the frame 3 by connecting pieces 13, schematically shown in Figure 1, but whose Figures 2 and 3

  more explicitly illustrate the structure and assembly.

  In these Figures, there is in particular one of the vertical uprights 4 of the frame 3, consisting of a metal profile comprising a central core 14 and in the example shown, parallel returns such as 15 for seals 16, the assembly delimiting an open rebate 5, suitable for receiving, on either side of the core 14, two glazed panels

  Conventionally, the glass panels 2 thus placed in abutment against the vertical uprights 4 of the frame 3, are kept applied against the latter by means of a pressing member 17 coming to bear against the surface of the panels directed towards the exterior of the facade, these pressing members being advantageously made, also by means of a profile 18, metallic or not, supporting seals 19 substantially facing the seals 16 of the upright 4 and which pinch between themselves

  In an arrangement of this kind, it is understood that, if the support structure 9 of the cantilever element is directly fixed to the only visible part outside the facade, namely the profile 18 of the member presser 17, the forces to which this element is necessarily subjected in operation, due to its weight or due to other causes, by

  example of the wind exerted on it or the weight of snow which can accumulate on the outer blades 12, create a torque which can be very significant and which is taken up by the assembly formed, not only by the profiles the upright 4 and the presser 17, but also by the glass panels 2, which

is not acceptable.

  To avoid this drawback and nevertheless not to break the continuity of the facade, in accordance with the invention, the connection established between the vertical upright 4 and the support structure 9 is made independent vis-à-vis the pressing member 17 and

as a result of the glass panels 2.

  To this end, each of the connecting pieces 13 is formed, by making it comprise a T-shaped plate 20, comprising a flat base 21, thin enough to be disposed in the extension of the central core 14 of the profile constituting the upright 4, this base being secured to

  the latter by means of immobilizing screws 22.

  In its central part, the base 21 has a tongue 23, located in its plane and extending perpendicular to the direction of the facade, extending beyond the panels

  panes 2, arranged on each side of the central core 14.

  This tongue 23 has at its end opposite the base 21, at least one bore 24, the example illustrated in Figures 2 and 3 corresponding to the presence of a single bore of this kind. As a variant, the tongue may comprise several neighboring holes, or even be associated with an additional tongue 23a, as shown diagrammatically in phantom lines on

  The bore 24 of the tongue 23 is provided to cooperate with a U-shaped yoke 25, formed at the end of the transverse lug 11 of the support structure 9 of the cantilever element, the connection between the yoke and the tongue being produced by means of a hinge pin 26, advantageously comprising two parts 27 and 28, with shouldered head, bearing on each of the external faces of the arms of the yoke 25, these two parts being respectively male and female and having ,

  for one a thread, for the other a corresponding tapping, so that they can be screwed mutually in

blocking the yoke on the tongue.

  Furthermore and in accordance with the invention, the profile 18 of the pressing member 17 comprises, in line with the tongue 23, an opening 29, of rectangular shape, corresponding substantially to the cross section of the tongue, so as to allow the latter to freely cross the pressing member in the bottom of its profile, thereby completely dissociating the forces which are transmitted to the vertical upright 4 by the plate and the support structure 9 which is linked to it, these forces having no incidence on the pressing member 18 and consequently

on the glass panels 2.

  The pressing member 17 is fixed by screws 30 to the base 21 and advantageously traps between the bottom of its profile 18 and the upper part of the base 21, an insulation and sealing part 31, preferably having a U-shape for covering the base on either side of it, as illustrated in Figure 3, this part having an opening of the same profile as that of the pressing member for the passage of the tongue. In the examples illustrated in Figures 4 to 6, there is each time the pressing member 17 and the plate 20, which comprises, as described above, a base 21, a tongue 23 with a bore 24 and a connecting yoke 25, the latter being joined to at least one tab 11 for its

  connection with a tube 10 of the support structure 9.

  In Figures 4 and 4a, the yoke 25 has three feeders, for three legs 11 and therefore three tubes 10, which are arranged in three directions perpendicular to one

  the other, according to two different plans.

  In FIGS. 5 and 5a, the yoke 25 is bent and is joined to two legs 11 forming between them a right angle,

  the whole being represented in two different planes.

  Finally, in FIG. 6, the tongue 23 is joined to a lug 11 but also includes a lateral extension 23a on which is mounted a rigging screw 32 for a cable 33 or the like, making it possible to adjust the stiffness of the latter, mounted between two

  fixing plates separated and at a distance from each other,

  between which this cable is stretched.

  All these Figures naturally illustrate the embodiments presented here for purely indicative purposes, the plate 20 being able to be joined to the support structure 9 in different ways each time, by means which are in themselves usual in the art, provided that '' they are arranged in such a way that the forces exerted on the latter are exclusively taken up by the vertical upright 4 and at no time

  by the glass panels 2 themselves.

  Therefore, it goes without saying that the invention is not limited to the embodiments more specifically described above with reference to the accompanying drawings; on the contrary, it embraces all its variants. In particular, the sunshade more particularly illustrated could be replaced by any other similar cantilever element, such as a gangway, an awning or a sign, the mounting thus produced does not break

Claims (7)

  1 - Device for supporting a door element & false screw   with respect to the vertical facade of a curtain wall of a building or similar construction, adapted to be fixed to a vertical upright (4) of a frame (3) carrying the glass panels (2) of this curtain wall, pinched and held between this upright and a pressing member (17), capable of being secured to this upright from the outside, characterized in that it comprises a T-shaped plate (20), consisting of a flat base ( 21) for positioning and immobilization with respect to the upright (4), provided with a central tongue (23) arranged perpendicular to the base and comprising at least one bore (24) for the passage of an axis articulation (26) with a U-shaped yoke (25), which is extended by at least one fitting capable of joining the yoke to a connecting means (10, 11) with the cantilever element, the member presser having an opening (29) through which the central tongue of the T-shaped plate passes and cooperating with means (30) suitable for securing it to the m having, by trapping against the base a piece (31) providing insulation and tightness of the assembly.   2 - Support device according to claim 1, characterized in that the insulation and sealing part (31) mounted between the pressing member (17) and the base (21) of the plate (20) has a U-shaped, so as to be able to cover the two lateral faces of the base on the   on the other side of the central tongue (23).   3 - Support device according to one of claims 1   or 2, characterized in that the flat base (21) is fixed to the upright (4) by screws (22), arranged on either side of the central tongue (23).   4 - Support device according to any one of   Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the connecting means   with the cantilever element is constituted by at least one tube, secured at its end to the U-shaped yoke (25) articulated on the central tongue (23) of the base (21) of the plate (20). - Support device according to any one of   Claims 1 to 3, characterized in that the connecting means   with the cantilever element is constituted by a metal cable (33), stretched between two distinct, separate bases, carried at a distance from each other by the vertical upright. 6 - Support device according to any one of   Claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the hinge axis   (26) of the U-shaped yoke (25) on the central tongue (23) consists of two parts, respectively male and female, the male part comprising a thread screwing into a threaded bore of the female part, each of the two parts being provided with a shouldered head (27, 28), resting on one and the other external faces of the yoke.   7 - Support device according to any one of   Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the tongue (23)   comprises several neighboring holes (24), each receiving an axis   of different articulation for as many U-shaped yokes (25).   8 - Support device according to any one of   Claims 1 to 6, characterized in that the tongue (23)   has a single bore (24), the U-shaped yoke (25) being joined to several separate fittings for as many connecting means   (10) with the cantilever element.   9 - Support device according to any one of   Claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the opening (29)   formed in the pressing member (17) and traversed by the central tongue (23) of the base (21) of the plate (20) has a rectangular shape, the profile of which corresponds substantially to the cross section of this tongue, which   freely engages in this opening.
