Abstract
Description
Semoir d'un nouveau type.A new type seed drill.
The present invention relates to a seed drill of a new type, more particularly suitable for so-called direct seeding methods of cultivation.
Traditional cultivation methods are characterized by plowing, that is to say an operation of turning the soil, before sowing this soil. This plowing operation has the advantage of burying all the crop debris placed on the surface of the soil and therefore promotes subsequent treatments which can then be carried out on clean soil. However, such working methods require several passages on the same floor. However, the current trend in agriculture is to reduce the number of passages to constantly increase productivity.
New so-called direct seeding methods have therefore been developed in recent years. These methods aim to eliminate the plowing operation which until now constituted the prerequisite for the teaching operation. The advantages of these new methods are undeniable. Indeed, agronomists have known for many years that chaunes protect the surface of soils against the effect of wind and rain and that, simply by placing the sentences and fertilizers below the intact surface of the soil, erosion problems, loss of moisture and the flow of chemicals can disappear. The devices applying these new methods are essentially constituted by seeders whose coulters, to open the furrow for the sentence, usually consist of two or three cutting discs arranged at an angle, such as a V or a U. They require little maintenance and handle surface residues well without getting stuck. However, they tend to smooth the walls of the furrow and introduce the chaune which can remain in contact with the sentence. In this case, the stubble can, during its decoiposition, affect the seed and prevent its germination. In addition, we find that such devices make it difficult to control the positioning of the seeds, in particular the depth at which the seeds are deposited.
The purpose of the present invention is therefore to overcome the aforementioned drawbacks by proposing a seed drill which allows more than 90% of the residues on the soil surface to be left intact and the seeds to be positioned with great precision in the soil by controlling perfect the depth of the speaker.
Another object of the present invention is to provide a seed drill which allows the simultaneous deposit of fertilizer and seed without the fertilizer burning the seed.
Another object of the invention is to propose a seed drill which makes it possible to optimize the seed / soil contact, thus promoting the germination of the seed.
To this end, the invention relates to a seed drill of the type comprising a frame equipped with at least one sowing element comprising at least one seed distribution duct, characterized in that said sowing element is associated with at least one prop fitted with the before a cutting member which, when advancing the seed drill, vertically cuts the debris encountered in the ground and opens a furrow, this vertical or oblique prop comprising at least one lateral share with positive incidence towards the soil to cut a strip of soil and lift it to leave enough space under the plowshare to deposit the seed by means of said seed distribution duct arranged at the rear of the prop, the whole cutter / sower being followed by a plow wheel to press the strip of soil previously cut and ensure the seed / soil contact.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, the share is inclined laterally in the direction of the ground to leave a part of earth forming a hinge when cutting the strip of earth.

The seed drill, object of the invention, comprises a chassis (not shown) equipped with at least one sowing element known per se comprising at least one conduit 5, 5 ′ for seed distribution 4. This sowing element is associated with at least a prop 2 fitted at the front with a cutting member 1, 1 'which, when the seed drill advances, vertically cuts the debris encountered in the ground and opens a furrow. This operation of vertical sectioning of the ground is necessary to subsequently allow the lifting of a strip of earth. This cutting member 1, 1 'can have a large number of shapes. I1 can thus be constituted either by the front leading edge 1 'of the prop 2, or by an attached cutting member 1. In the first embodiment described above, the leading edge 1' of 1 'prop 2 vertical or oblique is bevelled and cut shape to promote the penetration into the ground of said prop 2 and its advance-ent in the soil. In the second embodiment described above, the additional cutting member disposed upstream of the prop 2 can be constituted by a cutting disc rotating freely on a horizontal axis. This disc can also be called a circular coulter.
In a preferred embodiment of the invention, as shown in Figure 2, this disc 1 is arranged inclined relative to the direction of advance of the drill, represented in this figure by a dotted line. This cutting member 1 is followed, as shown in FIG. 1, by a prop 2, vertical or oblique, on which is disposed a lateral ploughshare 3. This ploughshare 3 has a positive incidence towards the ground, as shown in Figure 1, because this inclination facilitates the cutting of the soil. This plowshare 3 cuts, during the advancement of the drill, a strip of soil and lifts it at least partially to leave, under the lower surface of the ploughshare 3, sufficient space to deposit the seed 4 by means of the conduit 5 for distributing seeds 4 arranged at the rear of the prop 2.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the invention, the share 3 is inclined laterally in the direction of the ground. This inclination of the plane of the ploughshare 3 relative to the horizontal plane makes it possible, when cutting the strip of earth, to leave a portion of earth drilling at the hinge. This therefore reduces, very significantly, the trauma suffered by the soil and increasing the amount of residue left intact on the soil surface.
In addition, this guarantees a correct repositioning of the strip of earth when it is no longer supported by said ploughshare 3. To perfect this positioning of the strip of earth, once the seed 4 has been deposited in 1 'space left free between this strip and the bottom of the furrow, there is set back or at the rear of the set of the cutter / serer device a plow wheel 6 which presses the strip of soil and ensures perfect contact seed / soil which will favor the subsequent germination of the seed. This press wheel 6 can be equipped with a height adjustment device 9. It may be advantageous, when working on soils particularly loaded with plant debris, to bevel the leading edge of 1 'prop 2 vertical or oblique to promote the penetration of said prop 2 and its advancement in the ground.
To complete this seed drill, it can be arranged on this seed drill at least one duct 8 for distributing fertilizers 7 to reduce the number of passages and multiply the number of operations carried out in a single passage. This additional duct 8 for distributing fertilizers 7 must, as shown in FIGS. 1 to 3, be doubly offset with respect to the sowing element, in particular with respect to the duct 5 for seed distribution 4 to simultaneously allow seeds to be deposited and fertilizer 7 without the fertilizer 7 burning the seed 4. Generally, the fertilizer 7 is deposited deeper than the seed 4 and it will be offset laterally relative to the seed 4. This gives two parallel lines, one carried out by depositing seeds 4, the other by depositing fertilizer 7, as shown in FIG. 1. Generally and as shown in FIG. 5B, the additional duct 8 for distributing fertilizer 7 opens out in line with the groove to allow the deposit of fertilizer 7 directly in the furrow.
In a variant of the invention, shown in FIG. 4, it is possible to further improve such a seed drill and optimally reduce the number of passages of said seed drill. To do this, the prop 2, as described above, is equipped with two cnPc 3 identical to those described above, arranged on either side of the prop 2, to allow, during the advancement of the seed drill, depositing the seeds 4 simultaneously on the left and on the right of said prop 2. In this embodiment, for reasons of minimum encroachment, at least a portion of the conduits 5 and 5 'for seed supply 4 and the coulters 3 of the conduit 8 is formed in the prop 2, at the rear of the latter, as shown in FIGS. 5A, 5C, 5D. The ends of these conduits 5, 5 ′ open respectively under the coulters 3 at a suitable point, In the case of a complete seeder, the conduits 5, 5 ′, 8 for supplying seeds 4 and fertilizers 7 can be arranged in a manner similar to that shown in FIG. 5A. In this case, the conduits 5, 5 ', 8 are arranged, in the direction of advance of the seed drill, one behind the other, in any order.
As a result, the laying of the seeds or of the fertilizer 7 is automatically axially offset. In addition, the outlet orifices of these conduits 5, 5 ′, 8 are arranged so as to allow a depth offset and laterally thus preventing any risk of damage to seeds 4 by fertilizer 7. An exemplary embodiment of the ends of these conduits is shown in FIGS. 5B to 5D.
The combination of the organs described above therefore optimally allows the deposit of seed in the soil at a perfectly controlled depth with an almost zero destruction of the soil surface.
