Abstract

The cup in its folded state has two outer walls and a concave folded base. The cup is deployed by its two opposite longer edges, opening the top and unfolding the base so that it can receive a liquid and can be stood on a flat surface. The base of the cup is formed from two isosceles triangles with a common base and acute-angled apexes, forming a square when deployed. The base is stabilised by at least one side strip (36) which has its lower end (37) forming all or part of a supporting polygon for the cup and interacting with the points (52) of the concave base. The walls of the cup can be extended by flaps (56) which are turned over to form its rim.
