Description

The subject of the present invention is a device for continuously cleaning crates and more particularly plastic containers.
Currently washing machines operate almost all on the same principle, the trays or crates being placed, opening down, on a transfer chain, which makes them pass through an enclosure where they are sprayed with pressurized water, after which they are stacked and stored.
These installations have drawbacks due to the fact that on the one hand the spraying of water is not always sufficient for washing and that on the other hand this spraying is carried out mainly inside the boxes.
The object of the present invention is to remedy these drawbacks by proposing an automatic continuous washing machine for boxes of different formats allowing very efficient washing at a high rate.
The device according to the invention essentially comprises an enclosure having the shape of a U-shaped tunnel, the tanks to be cleaned being introduced manually, opening towards the side, at one end of the U and recovered at the end of the cleaning operation. at the other end, the tunnel comprising means for transferring from one end to the other, such as at least one conveyor advancing automatically under the constraint of a chain provided with retractable fingers, means for washing a plastic container such as rotary brushes with vertical and horizontal axes, easily removable by the user, brushing the interior and exterior faces of said container, each equipped with an integrated washing ramp, some being driven by a movement of and comes by a hydraulic cylinder, rinsing, draining and drying means.
In accordance with the invention, the drip zone comprises a conveyor which, while moving the plastic container from the rinsing zone to the drying zone, switches said container so as to discharge part of the washing water.
The advantages and characteristics of the present invention will emerge more clearly from the description which follows and which refers to the appended drawing, which represents a non-limiting embodiment thereof.
In the accompanying drawing Figure 1 shows a plan view of the entire cleaning device according to the invention. - Figure 1b shows a perspective view of a tank to be cleaned using the device according to the invention. 2 shows a sectional view of the washing and rinsing tunnel of the same device. Figure 3 shows a front view of the entrance and exit of the cleaning tunnel.
If we refer to Figures 1 and 2 we can see that the cleaning device according to the invention comprises an enclosure 'IL in the form of a u-shaped tunnel at the entrance 12 from which the tanks 11 to be cleaned are introduced manually by the operator , placed on the opening side towards the center of the enclosure 1, on a conveyor 21 and are driven by retractable fingers 21 which bring them into a washing zone 2. Firstly the tank 11 passes through a prewash ramp 13 then is presented in front of a first post of

which clean the side walls 117 and 118 of the tank 11 by making back and forth movements under the effect of a pneumatic cylinder 23 whose rod is perpendicular to the direction of movement of the tanks in the washing zone 2, and a brush rotary 24 of horizontal axis for brushing the outer underside 111 of the tank 11.The tank 11 is then presented in front of a second washing station comprising four rotary brushes 25 of horizontal axes intended to brush the four interior corners 116 of said tank and driven, like the brushes 22, by a back-and-forth movement under the effect of a second pneumatic cylinder 23 ′ of axis parallel to the first cylinder 23, a rotary brush 26 of vertical axis for brushing the outer bottom 112 of the tray 11 and a horizontal brush 27 for brushing the outer upper wall 113 of the tray 11. The tray 11 is finally presented opposite a third station comprising two horizontal rotary brushes 28 connected es at the end of the rod, parallel to the moving direction of the tray 11, a pneumatic cylinder 29 and designed to brush the inner surfaces upper 114 and lower 115 of the tray 11.
Each brush of the device according to the invention is advantageously equipped with an integrated washing ramp, not shown, and easily removable by the operator in the event of a mechanical incident, or for their maintenance in the event of wear of the brushing bristles.
The tank 11 is then brought, still by the conveyor 21, to a rinsing zone 3 comprising a rinsing ramp 31, visible in FIG. 2, ensuring the external and internal rinsing of the tank 11 by spraying water under the action of a motor-driven pump, a dosing pump for drying product, not shown, intended to protect the surface condition of the tank 11, and a rotary brush 32 of horizontal axis intended to wipe the external upper face 113 of the tank 11.
The tank 11 is then transferred to a second conveyor 41 in a drip zone 4 where it is tilted by suitable means known per se, in order to empty part of the washing water which has accumulated inside.
Finally, the tank 11 is transferred, on a third conveyor 5, to a drying zone comprising electrical resistances and fans not shown, to be finally recovered at the outlet 6 of the cleaning tunnel. Three tanks can also be seen under the conveyor 21 29, 33 and 34, made of stainless steel, the prewash tank 29 being equipped with an overflow drain 291 and an overflow 292 for the evacuation of fatty water in the gutter 9, while the washing tank 33 is also equipped with an overflow drain and a cold water inlet, not shown, the rinsing tank 34 being supplied by overflowing water in the washing tank 33 and comprising a resistor 342 and a float 341 controlling the cold water supply and its regulation to a maximum or minimum level.
It should be emphasized that the washing tunnel 1 of the device according to 'The invention can advantageously receive without change of setting, two dimensions of tanks by a simple manual operation consisting in changing the position of the internal washing brushes and raising the retractable fingers .
In Figure 3 we can see two openings 7 and 7 ', corresponding to the entrance and exit of the tunnel 1, made in a wall 8 and each comprising respectively a curtain of long bristle brushes 71 and 71' and a fan , not shown, to avoid splashing water and the fogging outwards, and a plastic roller ramp 9 arranged at the outlet 7 'to evacuate the tanks on the side of the tunnel It goes without saying that the present invention cannot be limited to the foregoing description of one of its embodiments, liable to undergo a certain number of modifications without departing from the scope of the invention.
