Abstract

Control device for the automatic unlocking and opening of a window sash (1), comprising a movable leaf (3) and, if applicable, a semi-fixed leaf (4), in contact with the edge of the movable leaf during closing the window and able to be temporarily immobilized vis-à-vis the fixed frame (2) of the frame receiving the two leaves by means of a locking mechanism (9). This device is characterized in that it comprises inside a housing (10) of the semi-fixed leaf or of the frame, a control button (8), suitable for releasing an operating rod (18) subjected to the action of a tripping spring (21) and acting in vertical displacement on a cam (25) mounted to pivot about a horizontal axis (26) supported by the semi-fixed leaf or the frame, this cam comprising a receiving notch (27) of a latch (28) carried by the mobile leaf.

  control for automatic unlocking and opening

  the movable leaf of a window sash or the like, pivotally mounted with respect to the frame or frame of this window relative to a semi-fixed leaf also carried by this frame, the two leaves being arranged substantially

  The invention relates to a device for controlling the automatic unlocking at the opening of a mobile leaf of a window of the kind mentioned above, which uses a very simple, effective and inexpensive mechanism, also providing assistance to the user. opening the leaf after unlocking it, if necessary also allowing the subsequent displacement of the locking mechanism of the semi-fixed leaf, so as to release the latter and to allow the window to be completely opened, the assembly being furthermore designed so that the application of the movable leaf on the chassis when it is closed causes conversely the automatic locking of the two leaves,

  until new controlled opening of the window.

  For this purpose, the device considered, for a window opening comprising a movable leaf and if necessary a semi-fixed leaf, in contact with the edge of the mobile leaf during the closure of the window and able to be temporarily immobilized vis- to the fixed frame of the frame receiving the two leaves by means of a locking mechanism, is characterized in that it comprises inside a housing of the semi-fixed leaf or the frame, a control button , capable of releasing an actuating rod subjected to the action of a trigger spring and acting in vertical displacement on a cam mounted to pivot about a horizontal axis supported by the semi-fixed leaf or the frame, said cam comprising a notch for receiving a latch carried by the movable leaf, so that the pivoting of the cam in the housing under the effect of the operating rod, controlled by the button, is reflected by a force on the latch of the leaf mob island by separating it from the semi-fixed leaf, itself later released by

  release of the locking mechanism.

  Preferably, the control knob is slidably mounted by depression in a guide provided in the housing of the semi-fixed leaf or the frame, this button being arranged to cause the displacement of the operating rod under the action of the triggering spring. a given moment

Of course, it could equally well be envisaged, alternatively, that the opening of the window comprises only a movable leaf pivoting relative to the fixed frame of the frame, this leaf of the swinging or striking type being articulated on this chassis of classic way. However, this solution does not prejudge the one more especially envisaged, where the chassis is first associated with a semi-fixed leaf immobilized in displacement with respect to this frame by a conventional blocking mechanism, such as a maneuverable bolt manually, as well known in the art or by means of a movable bolt controlled by the device making the opening of the movable leaf, as envisaged in the embodiments described below. In all cases, the semi-fixed leaf 4 (or the frame 2) vis-à-vis which pivots the movable leaf 3, comprises an inner housing 10, in which are grouped the different mechanisms of the device 9 for unlocking and control the movement of the mobile leaf 3, realized

according to the invention.

  FIG. 2 shows, in the housing 10, the control knob 8, itself engaged in a transverse guide 11, delimited by a side wall 12 and a bottom 13 closing the housing 10. This button comprises an emergent part 14, which overflows the contour

  20 against which is applied the end of a release spring 21, mounted between this stop and a fixed shoulder 22 extending transversely from the wall of the inner housing 10 formed in the leaf semi-fixed 4 or the frame 2, the spring thus compressed to exert permanently a force directed downward on the operating rod 18, until the moment when the lower end thereof, through the passage 19 in the wall 12 of the 11, can enter the recess 17 of the button 8, while allowing the concomitant movement

of the operating rod 18.

  This rod 18 is provided, at its end opposite to that which enters the recess 17 under the conditions indicated above, a transverse lug 23 engaged in an elongate groove 24 of a cam 25, itself hinged on the leaf semi-fixed 4 or the frame 2 about a horizontal axis 26 mounted in the housing 10. This cam has a notch 27 into which, in the closed position of the mobile leaf 3 on the leaf semi-fixed 4 inside of the frame 2, a locking latch 28 which is extended by a connecting element 29 with the movable leaf 3, this connecting element freely penetrating into the housing 10 of the semi-fixed leaf 4 through an appropriate slot or aperture 30 provided in the face next to the

wall of this housing.

  FIGS. 2A, 2B and 3 make it possible to easily understand the operation of the device for unlocking and opening the mobile leaf 3 corresponding to this

first embodiment.

  In the closed position of the opening 1, which corresponds to the arrangement of the two leaves 3 and 4 in the extension of one another as shown in Figure 1A, the control button 8 has its projecting surface 14 emerging. slightly of the apparent contour of the movable leaf 3 through the slot 7 formed in the covering edge 6 of the latter, placed in the rebate 5 of the leaf

semi-fixed 4.

  The user wishing to open the window, exerts on the button 8 a driving force in its guide 11 against the return spring 15 gradually compressed, until the moment when this button has its recess 17 opposite the end of the operating rod 18 crossing

  the wall 12 of the guide through the passage 19.

  At this moment, the operating rod 18, pushed down by the force of the release spring 21 on the abutment 20 integral with this rod, is introduced into the recess 17, at the same time as the lug 23 provided at its opposite end moves in the eyelet 24 of the cam, by rotating the latter about its horizontal axis 26 carried by the semi-fixed leaf 4 or the frame 2. During this pivoting, the cam 25 exerts on the latch 28 trapped in its notch 27 a transverse displacement force, pushing the latch to the right in Figures 2A and 2B, simultaneously causing the unlocking of the pivoting leaf 3 which escapes the semi-fixed leaf 4 and an aid to the opening of this movable leaf, the connecting element 29 of the latch 28 coming out of the latter through the slot 30 provided in the corresponding wall of the

housing 10.

  The user can then rotate the mobile leaf 3 in the direction of its opening and release simultaneously the operating knob 8 which remains in the inserted position in its guide 11, being immobilized by the end of the operating rod 18 which remains engaged

in the recess 17 of the button.

  When the mobile leaf is again applied against the semifix leaf 4 inside the frame 2, the latch 28 is returned to the notch 27, causing the pivoting in the opposite direction of the cam 25 about its horizontal axis 26 and the raising of the operating rod 18 which is linked to it via the lug 23 housed in the

  groove 24 of the cam, against the spring 21.

  As soon as the end of the operating rod 18 completely escapes the recess 17 of the button 8, the latter, under the effect of the return spring 15 returns to

its initial position.

  FIG. 4 illustrates a variant embodiment on which the same reference numerals have been used to designate organs similar to those envisaged in FIG.

  In this variant, the operating rod 18 has a lower end 31 in the form of a hook, adapted to cooperate with a flange 32 of the control knob 8 passing through an opening 33 of the guide 11 in which this button slides, the engagement of the hook 31 in the flange 32 immobilizing the rod 18 by compressing the trigger spring 21 mounted between the shoulder 22 provided in the housing 10 of the semi-fixed leaf 4 or the frame 2 and a lateral extension 34 of the rod at the end of this extension opposite the hook 31. This extension 34 has the shape of an L and is provided at the end with the pin 23 on which the pivoting cam 25 is articulated,

  itself pivotally mounted about the horizontal axis 26.

  When the user exerts on the protruding face 14 of the button 8 a driving force in his guide 11, the hook 31 escapes the rim 32, so that, under the action of the trigger spring 21, occurs in this case an upward movement of the rod 18, forcing the cam 25 to pivot about its axis 26, causing, as in the previous example, the release of the latch 28 of the notch 27 and the release of the movable leaf 3 via the connecting element 29 of the latch 28

  leaving the slot 30 towards the outside of the housing 10.

  Once the hook 31 has escaped the rim 32, as indicated above, and as soon as the user releases his effort on the emergent portion 14 of the control button 8, the latter slides in the guide 11 under the action of the

  spring 15 and resumes its initial position.

  Advantageously, the hook 31 of the rod 18 and the rim 32 of the button 8 comprise chamfered chamfers, respectively 35 and 36, whose inclined slopes are complementary, so that when closing the movable leaf 3, bringing the latch 28 in the notch 27 with pivoting in the opposite direction of the cam 25, compression of the spring 21 and downward movement of the rod 18, the latter can easily engage its hook 31 under the flange 32 by mutual sliding of their respective chamfers 35 and 36, the spring 13 accommodating the slight movement of the button before it again blocks the hook until a new command of the opening of the

movable leaf 3.

  FIGS. 5A and 5B illustrate another embodiment or the forces resulting from the depression of the control knob 8 and / or the forced pivoting of the cam 25 when the mobile leaf 3 is brought back into the closed position, while ensuring the locking of the device until new use, are taken over either by the operating rod 18 operating in compression, but by an intermediate piece 37, mounted between the walls 39b and 39c of a

  box 39 housed in the rabbet of the leaf, consecutively

  movement of the rod 18 itself.

  In this variant, the rod 18 passes freely through a bore 38 provided in a cross member 39a of the casing 39 and whose upper face constitutes the shoulder 22 for bearing the trigger spring 21, as in variant

  This spring is also likely to be compressed between this shoulder and the intermediate piece 37, the latter being secured to the threaded end 40 of the rod 18 screwed into a corresponding threaded hole of

  The latter is secured to a sliding sleeve 41, also disposed between the walls 39b and 39c of the casing 39, as a result of the movements of the intermediate piece 37, the latter having in its face opposite to that against which the spring of tripping step 42, in which can engage a stopper 43 provided on the cam 25 pivoting around

its horizontal axis 26.

  A leaf spring 44 is also mounted against the inner wall of the housing 39 and secured to it by one of its ends, the other being free and applied against the cam 25 to tend to rotate the latter in the configuration shown in Figure 5B, when the latch 28 of the movable leaf 3 is clear of the notch 27 in the open position of this leaf. On the other hand, in the closed position of the two leaves, when the latch 28 is engaged in the notch 27, the leaf spring 44 is applied against the wall 39b, the nose 43 of the cam 25 returning in the recess 42 of the piece 37 who immobilizes him. In other embodiments, where the mobile leaf 3 is associated with a semi-fixed leaf 4, itself immobilized vis-à-vis the frame 2 of the frame, the device advantageously comprises means that allow, after unlocking and opening of the mobile leaf 3, to automatically release the semi-fixed leaf 4 and to allow the complete opening of the window. Such a variant is illustrated in particular in the various views of FIG.

In the first case (FIG. 6), the operating rod 18 comprises an extension 45, beyond its lug 23 penetrating into the eyelet 24 for articulation of the rod on the cam 25, this extension 45 being secured to a flexible cable 46 secured to a locking bolt 47

  semi-fixed leaf 4 opposite frame 2.

  The bolt 47 comprises a projecting element forming a bolt 48, adapted to engage inside a slot in the form of a striker 49 provided in the frame 2 to immobilize the leaf vis-à-vis the latter. The bolt 48 comprises a double bevel end 50a and 50b, the striker 49, open towards the leaf 4, having two successive inclined faces 51a and 51b, with opposite slopes, adapted to cooperate respectively with the parts 50a and 50b of the bolt

  48 as follows.

  The bolt 47 comprises, below the bolt 48, a transverse base 52 slidably mounted inside the housing 10 in the semi-fixed leaf 4, the cable 46 passing through the base 52 through a bore 53 and being terminated by a locking nut 54, thereby securing the cable and the bolt. A complementary return spring 55 is mounted between the lower face 56 of the base 52 of the bolt and a shoulder 57 provided in the housing 10 of the semi-fixed leaf 4, this shoulder extending parallel to

  the bearing shoulder 22 of the trigger spring 21.

  The operation of the device according to this variant embodiment is similar to that described with reference to FIGS. 2 and 3 with regard to the unlocking of the mobile leaf 3 and the assistance with the opening of the latter as a result of the ejection of the latch 28 out of the groove 27 of the cam 25 when it pivots about its horizontal axis 26 under the effect of the rod of

maneuver 18.

  But simultaneously and in this variant, the downward movement of the operating rod 18 under the action of the release spring 21, causing the lower end of this rod to enter the recess 17 of the button 8, exerts on the cable 46 a pulling force which pulls down the bolt 47 in the housing 10 to a position where this bolt leads the bevel 50 of

  its bolt 48 facing the inclined face 51 of the striker 49.

  In this position, the movable leaf 3 being released from the semifixed leaf 4 in the manner already indicated, by ejecting the latch 28 from the notch 27 of the pivoting cam 25, the user can, by a low amplitude force on the leaf 4, open the latter vis-à-vis the frame 2, the portion 50a of the bevel provided at the end of the bolt 47 sliding on the inclined face 51a of the striker 49, while the complementary return spring 55 easily cash this displacement FIGS. 6B and 6C clearly illustrating the kinematics thus implemented and

  the successive positions of the corresponding parts.

  Conversely, when the semi-fixed leaf 4 is pushed towards the frame 2 to close the door, the beveled portion 50b of the bolt 47 slides on the inclined slope 51b of the striker 40, the return spring 55 casing again this move. When the bolt 48 of the bolt 47 arrives opposite the keeper 49 it goes up into it under the effect of this spring and engages automatically (as in the position shown in Figure 6B), its stroke being limited by the cable 46. The movable leaf 3 can then be applied against the semi-fixed leaf 4 and locked against it in the manner already indicated, by returning the latch 28 in the notch 27 of the cam 25. , the pivoting thereof causing the rise of the rod 18 and the bolt 47, in the position according to Figure 6A,

  The rod 18, when it rises in the manner thus achieved, escapes the recess 17 of the control button 8, which returns to its initial position under the effect of the

  transverse spring 15 (as shown in Figure 6A).

  Figure 7 is schematically illustrated another embodiment, more particularly adapted to a window with two leaves with a movable leaf locking on a semi-fixed leaf, it is

  The general principle of controlling the opening and closing of these leaves is similar to that used in the solutions that have been described in connection with the embodiments according to the preceding figures. In Figure 7, the leaf semi-fixed comprises two parallel operating rods, each actuating a cam lock assembly as already described.
