Abstract

The invention relates to a package for wire, cable or similar, intended to serve as a reel. This package is constituted by two superimposed rigid or semi-rigid sheets (1, 2). The first sheet (1) delimits an edge (5) for winding the cable and a housing for the latter and comprises, in its central section, at least one hollow tongue (8a, 8b) which is adapted to contain and lock one end of the cable (10). Before incision, this tongue is closed and the package is tamper-evident: it prevents unwanted unwinding of the cable during use. The tongues are incised in order to allow the passage of the cable to the exterior and its unwinding by pulling, the package therefore serving as a reel.

Description

PACKAGING FOR WIRE, CABLE OR THE LIKE
The invention relates to a packaging for wire, cable or the like, making it possible both to package this type of product and to serve as a dispenser.

 There are different types of packaging for wires, cables or the like. In a first type, the cable is wound on a drum or support rotating around an axis to form a reel. The set is placed in a packaging to protect it and prevent its unwanted unwinding at the point of sale.

However, these packages are made up of several parts and therefore require several manufacturing steps.
In another type of packaging, the cable is stored in the form of a coil in a cylindrical box, the cover of which has a hole for unwinding the wire. The drawback of this system is that the wire is always accessible and therefore requires additional packaging to guarantee its inviolability.

 There is another type of packaging in which the wire is wound around a cylindrical winding flank which is formed by a wall of the packaging itself. This packaging guarantees inviolability but does not make it possible to unwind the content without permanently removing the packaging lid.

The present invention proposes to remedy the above-mentioned defects in known packaging for wires, cables or the like.
An object of the invention is in particular to provide simple packaging which can serve as a reel.

 Another objective is to provide an inviolable packaging, the wire, cable or the like not being accessible before use.

To this end, the packaging for wire, cable or the like targeted by the invention which is intended to serve as a reel, comprises two superimposed rigid or semi-rigid sheets, the first sheet being shaped to delimit a central part and a housing situated around said central part, which is attached to a winding side of the cable, the second sheet being shaped to cover the first and to be fixed thereon to the periphery of the aforementioned housing. According to the present invention, this packaging is characterized in that than:
the first sheet comprises at least one hollow tongue attached to the central part,
said hollow tongue opens out through a slit opposite the second sheet, extends opposite the latter and is closed on its edges with the exception of the aforementioned slit,
-the said hollow tongue has a thickness adapted to contain and block one end of the cable,
said hollow tongue is adapted to be able to be incised from the outside of the packaging in order to allow, after the incision, the passage of the cable towards the outside and its unwinding by traction.

 By "rigid or semi-rigid sheet" means an element of reduced thickness compared to the dimensions of its surface, capable of forming a wall of the packaging.

 The two sheets can be fixed to each other by staples, by gluing or by thermal welding.

One end of the wire, cable or the like is inserted into the tab, and the cable is arranged around the winding flank of the first sheet. The second sheet is superimposed on the first and is fixed on the latter at the periphery of the housing so as to obtain a closed package in which the cable is housed and remains inaccessible. Thus, such packaging does not allow access to the cable as long as the tongue remains not incised and therefore benefits from a character of inviolability. A simple incision in the hollow tongue allows the user to free the end of the cable and unwind it by traction
Preferably, the packaging comprises at least two tabs of different thicknesses which can contain and block cables of different diameters. The same packaging can therefore be used with different cables.

 According to a preferred embodiment, the two sheets are obtained by thermal molding of a polymer material. In another embodiment one or both of the two sheets can be made of cardboard or the like.

 Furthermore, the second sheet is preferably flat.

Thus, during storage, it is easy to superimpose a large number of packages while having a small footprint.

 The packaging shown by way of example in FIGS. 1, 2, 3 comprises a first sheet 1 of polymer material shaped to delimit a circular central part 2 and a housing 3 situated around said central part. This first sheet 1 comprises a flat peripheral margin 4 which allows its fixing. The housing 3 is limited by a cylindrical winding side 5 which is connected to the central part 2. A second flat sheet 6 of polymer material identical to the first covers this first sheet 1 and is fixed on the latter by means of clips 7 on the periphery of the housing 3.

 The first sheet 1 comprises, for example, two hollow tongues 8a and 8b attached to the central part 2. These tongues 8a and 8b open out through a slit opposite the second sheet 6, extend opposite the latter and are closed on their edges with the exception of the aforementioned slot. The two tabs have different thicknesses as shown in the figures.

Each tongue 8a, 8b extends in a plane substantially perpendicular to the central part 2. Each tongue 8a, 8b has a lateral edge 9a and 9b inclined relative to the direction perpendicular to the central part in order to better guide the cable during of its progress. Finally, the height h of each tongue 8a, 8b is substantially equal to the height of the winding flank 5. Each tongue 8a, 8b is thus easily accessible to the user to incise it without constituting a hindrance for the stacking of packaging during storage.

 A small space is left between the central part 2 and the second sheet 6. This space allows the cable to unwind without mechanical stress.

 Figures 4, 5, 6 show the cable 10 in place in the packaging. The cable is wound around the winding flank 5 and its end is received and locked in a tongue 8a. In this position, it is not accessible from the outside. To use the packaging as a reel, the user cuts the tabs, which allows him to grasp the end of the cable and unroll it as illustrated in Figures 7, 8, 9.

 The packaging targeted by the invention is provided with lights such as It allowing it to be suspended; two lights 1 1 may in particular be provided as shown schematically in Figure 9 to allow two modes of suspension.

 1 / -Conditioning for wire, cable or the like, intended to act as a reel 1 comprising two rigid or semi-rigid sheets superimposed, the first sheet (1) being shaped to delimit a central part (2) and a housing (3), located around of said central portion le1 the latter being connected to a winding flank (5), the second sheet (6) being shaped to cover the first and to be fixed thereon at the periphery of the aforementioned housing (3), said packaging being characterized in that:  the first sheet (1) comprises at least one hollow tongue (8a) attached to the central part1  the said hollow tongue (8a) opens out through a slit opposite the second sheet (6), extends opposite the latter and is closed on its edges with the exception of the aforementioned slit,  -the said hollow tongue (8a) has a thickness suitable for containing and blocking one end of the cable,  -the said hollow tongue (8a) is adapted to be able to be incised from the outside of the packaging in order to allow, after incision, the passage of the cable towards the outside and its unwinding by traction  2 / -Conditioning according to claim 1, characterized in that the first sheet (1) comprises at least two tabs (8a, 8b) adapted to be able to contain and block cables of different diameters  3 / -Conditioning according to claim 2, characterized in that the first sheet (1) comprises two tabs (8a, 8b) forming between them an angle between 90 and 1700.  4 / -Conditioning according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that each tongue (8a, 8b) extends in a plane substantially perpendicular to the central part (2).  5 / -Conditioning according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that at least the first sheet (1) is obtained by thermal molding of a polymer material  6 / -Conditioning according to one of claims 1 to 5, characterized in that the second sheet (6) is substantially planar.  7 / -Conditioning according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that each tongue (8a, 8b) has a lateral edge (9a, 9b) inclined relative to the direction perpendicular to the central part (2).  8 / -Conditioning according to one of claims 1 to 7, characterized in that each tongue (8a, 8b) extends over a height (h) substantially equal to the height of the winding flank (5).  9 / -Conditioning according to one of claims 1 to 8, characterized in that the winding flank (5) is substantially cylindrical  10 / -Conditioning according to one of claims 1 to 9, characterized in that a space is preserved between the central part of the first sheet (1) and the second sheet (6).
