Abstract

An integrally-moulded double hinge capable of shifting sideways when opened through 180 DEG , each if its ends being engageable in a respective one of two members (9,10) to be hinge-mounted. The hinge consists of a U-shaped element (1) with arms (3, 4) each having an outer transverse slot (5, 6) with a triangular cross-section having an angle of about 90 DEG , which slot forms the folding axis of the U-shaped element. In the closed position, the hinge cannot be seen from outside said members (9, 10).

La présente invention concerne l'industrie des objets moulés en matière plastique comportant une articulation à charnières, notamment les récipients, les étuis, les bouchons à couvercle rabattable. The present invention relates to the molded plastic industry comprising a hinged joint, in particular containers, cases, stoppers with a hinged cover. Claims

1. Hinge with double articulation with lateral offset at the opening at 180 ", molded in one piece, the ends of which are each insertable in one of two articulated elements respectively, hinge characterized in that it consists of a U-shaped tongue (1) whose branches (3, 4) each have a transverse external notch (5, 6) of triangular section of approximately 90 opening constituting an axis of folding of the tongue, the assembly of the hinge being invisible from the outside of the two elements in the closed position.

2. Hinge according to claim 1, characterized in that the difference between the branches of the U is at least equal to the sum of the thicknesses of the walls (15, 16) of the articulated elements (9, 10) between the outside and the branches of the U whose ends are respectively embedded therein.

3. Hinge according to one of claims 1 and 2, characterized in that the edges of the walls of the articulated elements reach practically the bottom (2) of the

U of the tongue in the open position.

4. Hinge, according to one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that each of the two elements has internally a housing (13, 14) for the corresponding folded branch of the U of the tongue in the closed position.

5. Hinge, according to one of claims 1 to 4, characterized in that it comprises elastically surmountable means of temporary retention (15-16, 17-18) cooperating with means complementary to the articulated elements to impose a predetermined sequence the folding and unfolding of the arms of the U at the opening and closing of the hinge respectively.

6. Hinge according to claim 5, characterized in that the retaining means consist of reliefs and complementary recesses (15-16, 17-18) formed respectively in the walls of the elements and of the hinge reciprocally coming into contact during opening and closing operations.

7. Hinge according to one of claims 1 to 6, characterized in that it is made of poplypropylene.
