Abstract

The seat uses a single base (16) with two seat backs (14, 15) which form a division between the driving compartment and luggage area. The base is affixed to the vehicle floor (12) through sliding rails (20, 20') and there are two transverse pivot points. The first (21) allows the base, sliding rails and seat backs to be rotated together in a forwards direction against the seats located in front. The second axis permits the seat backs to be lowered rearwards individually into a reclined position or forwards into contact with the base. A locking system operated by a lever ensures the attachment of the base to the vehicle floor. The locking system is affixed to the base frame and uses a hook and arm arrangement with the arm affixed transversely to the vehicle floor. The hook is arranged in between the sliding rails. The rails are arranged with upper (27) and lower (26) profiles with the lower profile able to be rotated about the first axis. ADVANTAGE - Allows rear seat to be slid to improve rear passenger comfort. Locking system can be operated from driving compartment or baggage area.
