Door stop for a vehicle, composed of a tie provided with notches and mounted pivotably on a support intended to be fastened to the frame of a door of a motor vehicle, the pivot axis of the tie being parallel to the pivot axis of the door, and of a mechanism intended to be fastened to the leaf of the door, this mechanism comprising a frame (1) and two running rollers (6 and 8) between which the tie is seated, one (6) of these rollers being mounted rotatably between two cheeks (4) mounted pivotably on a shaft (3) counter to a spring (7), the other (8) of these rollers being mounted rotatably between two fixed flanges of the frame, the said device being characterised in that the length of the rollers (6, 8) is at least equal to double the thickness (e) of the tie.
