Abstract

The invention relates to a set of parts which fit together to construct shelves that can be dismantled. Crossmembers 3 having lugs 18 and apertures 19 are fitted between the uprights 1, 2 by the insertion of the lugs 18 into the perforations 14 formed in the flanges 13 of the uprights 1, 2. Shelves 4 are fitted between the crossmembers 3. The set of parts according to the invention is particularly intended to enable shelves to be put up without the use of tools.

 The present invention relates to a set of parts which allow easy and rapid construction of removable shelving.

 Several assembly devices are known for the construction of shelving and shelves. In several known systems, the shelving is essentially formed of uprights, crosspieces and shelves, assembled together by bolting. By the very fact of this bolting assembly, the assembly of a rack is a fairly slow operation.

 However, shelving systems are also known in which the constituent elements are assembled together not by bolting, but by interlocking. In some of these systems, the parts are assembled using claws carried by one part, which engage in holes made in another part.

In the German patent application DE 25 07 298, the assembly of the constituent elements of the shelving is carried out by means of a single lug located at each end of a cross member fitting into a flat upright in the form of
T. This crosspiece consists of a folded sheet, essentially in the shape of a Y. The ends of the crosspiece are simple to make it possible to introduce the lug into the perforation of the central bar of the upright. These perforations are ,. in their lower part, cut obliquely towards the wing of the upright. When the lugs are inserted into these perforations, the ends of the cross-members are urged towards the wings of the upright, making the cross-members self-locking. This self-locking contributes to a certain stiffening of the shelving, but also implies that a shelf cannot be removed. and moved in isolation when the shelving is fully assembled.

 The present invention aims to provide sets of spare parts that can be assembled by simple interlocking, allowing the construction of rigid shelving.

 The invention also aims to provide such spare parts which can be manufactured economically using simple tools.

 Another object of the invention is to provide sets of parts sold separately, the assembly, assembly, disassembly and disassembly of which can be carried out without tools.

 Another object of the invention is to provide sets of parts, making it possible to build rigid shelving, these parts being intended to be assembled by more or less inexperienced persons in a minimum of time. After dismantling the shelving, some of these constituent elements lying flat on top of each other can be packaged, ensuring minimum space occupation during transport and storage.

 The present invention provides a set of elements whose assembly allows the construction of shelving comprising front and rear uprights, adjustable position crosspieces which connect each front upright to the corresponding rear upright and horizontal shelves.

 Each upright is a profile having a substantially T-shaped section, the central bar of which constitutes the core of the profile.

 Perforations regularly spaced along the length of the upright are formed in the core of each upright.

 Each cross member consists of a plate having essentially the shape of an oblong rectangle and is provided, near its short sides, with lugs formed by punching, directed essentially towards the long side of the plate intended to form the lower side. of the sleeper.

Each lug is located near one of the short sides of the crosspiece.

 Each horizontal shelf consists of a substantially rectangular plate and has, on its periphery, ledges & right angles all directed on the same side of this plate.

 The arrangement of the uprights, crosspieces and shelves is such that, during assembly, the core of each upright is directed towards the interior of the shelving.

Two or more crosspieces connect each front upright to the corresponding rear upright. Each lug of each cross member can engage in a perforation in the core of an upright.

 Each horizontal shelf is suitable for being mounted between two crosspieces. The edge of each lateral end of the shelf is able to fit into a space defined between the vertical part of a cross member and the core of the front and rear uprights which carry this cross member. The edges of the sides of the shelf, which do not bear on the crosspieces, are folded at right angles to the center of the shelf.

 In the set of elements according to the invention, each upright is a profile consisting of a rectangular box having unequal sides and a core which, from the middle of one of the large ribs of the rectangular box, runs perpendicularly towards the inside. .

 A row of perforations regularly spaced along the length of the upright is provided in each of the two sides of the box located symmetrically on either side of the core and at least two rows of parallel perforations regularly spaced along the length of the upright are provided in blade.

 Each cross member is provided, at one of its long sides intended to form the upper side of the cross member, with a rim at right angles. This rim stiffens the cross member and allows the load on the tablet to be taken up.

 Each cross member is provided, near each of its short sides, with at least two pins and at least two windows. The lugs protrude from the face of the cross member opposite said edge. Each lug is located in a place which, relative to a median plane passing perpendicularly through the long sides of the cross, is symmetrical to the place where a window is provided near the other short side of the cross.

 The lugs secure the cross member to the front and rear uprights. This attachment, at least two sufficiently spaced points, ensures good rigidity and bracing of the shelving. The windows are provided to give the possibility of placing two crosspieces at the same level on each side of the web of the upright, thus ensuring the continuity of the shelving.

 The arrangement of the uprights, crosspieces and shelves is such that, during assembly, each window of each crossmember is located opposite a perforation in the core of an upright. The horizontal part of each shelf rests on the edges of two crosspieces.

 According to an advantageous embodiment, each cross member is provided, near each of its short sides, with two pins and two windows. In this case, the core of each upright is provided with two parallel rows of perforations. The pins and the windows can be located on the cross in two ways, the first is that the two pins, located near each of the short sides of the cross, are aligned along a straight line parallel to this small side, and the two windows , located near each of the short sides of the cross, are aligned along another straight line parallel to this short side.

 The second possibility is that the two lugs and the two windows, located near each of the short sides of the cross member, are arranged in such a way that a lug and a window are aligned along a straight line parallel to this small side, the lug being located above the window, the other lug and the other window being aligned along another straight line parallel to this small side, the lug being located below the window.

 In addition to the pins and the windows, each cross member is provided, near each of its short sides, with a hole for the possible passage of bolts capable of reinforcing the fixing of the cross member to the uprights which carry it. They are also provided with one or more small holes for the possible fixing of accessories.

 In a preferred form. of the invention, the edges of the sides of the shelf, which do not bear on the crosspieces are doubly folded at right angles to the center and upwards of the shelf.

 In the core of the uprights, the perforations are formed in two parallel rows along the length of the upright. These perforations are hexagon shaped and have two sides perpendicular to the longitudinal direction of the upright. The perforations in each of the two sides of the box, located on either side of the core, are in the form of buttonholes oriented parallel to the longitudinal direction of the upright.

 The set of elements for the construction of removable shelving according to the invention may further comprise a stiffening assembly. This assembly consists of a profile carrying, at its ends, parts allowing the fixing thereof to the front uprights or to the rear uprights.

 This set of elements can also comprise, alternatively, crosspieces capable of being fixed between two rear uprights.

 The set of elements according to the invention may, in addition, comprise rectangular sheets able to be fixed to the rear part of the shelving or capable of closing the shelving laterally.

 The first are rectangular sheets provided with perforations along two of their parallel edges, so as to be able to be fixed between the rear uprights of the shelving by means of screws engaged in the perforations formed in the sides of the box located on either side. other of the soul.

 The second are sheets provided with perforations along two of their parallel edges so as to be able to close the shelving laterally, each being fixed between a front upright and a corresponding rear upright, by means of bolts passing through the perforations provided in the soul of the uprights.

 The elements are advantageously made of steel and, preferably, the uprights are made by cold profiling.

 The description which follows with reference to the appended drawings given by way of non-limiting example, will make it clear how the invention can be produced, the features which emerge both from the drawings and from the text which, of course, forms part of the said invention. .

 Fig. 1 is a schematic perspective view, partially exploded, of a shelving unit in accordance with the present invention, comprising uprights 1, 2, crosspieces 3 and shelves 4. To facilitate understanding of the text, we have given two numbers of reference, respectively to the front uprights 1 and to the rear uprights 2, which are of course identical. The front uprights 1 and the rear uprights 2 are connected by crosspieces 3. Horizontal shelves 4 fit between the crosspieces 3.

 The shelving shown in Fig. 1 is stiffened by means of stiffening assemblies 5 and / or of cross-pieces 6. The stiffening assemblies 5, which will be described in more detail with reference to FIGS. 11 to 13, interconnect the front uprights 1 at the upper part and at the lower part of the shelving. The crossbars 6 are simply formed by two metal plates which are pierced with holes near their ends and which each connect the top of a rear upright 2 with the bottom of another rear upright 2.

 According to variant embodiments not shown in the figures, the rear part of the shelving can be stiffened in several other ways. This is how this rear part can also be stiffened by means of stiffening assemblies 5 which connect the rear uprights 2 to the upper part and to the lower part of the shelving unit.

 Alternatively, the shelving can be stiffened at its rear part by means of "backs", which are simple rectangular sheets, pierced with holes near two of their parallel edges. Each of these "backs" can thus be fixed & two rear uprights 2 neighbors, by means of screws, very effectively stiffens the shelving, while closing it on its rear face.

 Optionally, these sheets fixed to the rear uprights 2 may not extend over the entire height of the shelving but, for example, over a height which separates two shelves 4. Such sheets of lesser height, called "small backs", may possibly be fixed to the rear uprights 2 at the top and at the bottom of the shelving.

 Fig. 2 is a view of the cross section of an upright 1, 2 according to the invention. The uprights 1, 2 consist of a section 7 in a rectangular box having two short sides 8, a large front side 9 and a large rear side 10 consisting of two sides 11 and 12.

This profile 7 is provided with a core 13 which emerges perpendicular to the large rear side 10 at the end of the pan 11. The large front side 9 of the box 7 is smooth and non-perforated, which is advantageous from the point of view of 1 aesthetics.

 Fig. 3 is a side view of an upright 1, 2 in FIG. 2. In the core 13 of the upright 1, 2 are formed hexagonal perforations 14 regularly spaced and staggered in two rows along the length of the upright 1, 2. These perforations 14 are provided for fixing a cross-member 3.

 Fig. 4 is a view of the rear face 10 of an upright 1, 2. The rigidity and the bracing of the shelving are ensured by the fact that the two pins 18, located at each end of each cross member 3, s1 engage in perforations 14 between which a perforation has been left free. The rigidity and bracing of the shelving is ensured by the fact that the width of the base of the perforations 14 is slightly narrower than the width of the lug 18, which implies the lug of the lug 18 three-quarters of the perforation 14.

 The two sides 11 and 12 of the box section 7 are provided with perforations 15 in buttonholes, arranged symmetrically with respect to the core 13 and staggered over the height of the upright 1, 2. These perforations 15 are provided for fixing or attachment of an accessory or a cross 6 or a stiffening assembly 5 to give even more rigidity to the shelving.

 Fig. 5 is a view of the cross section of an upright 1, 2 according to another embodiment. The amount 1, 2 is the same as the amount 1, 2 in FIG. 2, with the only difference that the core 13 and the section 7 in a box are joined by a weld 16, thus joining the two sides 11 and 12 of the large rear side 10, to give more rigidity.

 Figs. 6, 7 and 8 show a cross member 3 according to the present invention. The crosspiece 3 consists of an oblong rectangular plate having, at its upper side, a flange 17 at right angles. Each plate constituting a cross-member 3 is provided, near each of its short sides, with two lugs 18 and two windows 19.

 In Fig. 6, the two pins 18, located near each of the short sides of the plate, are aligned along a straight line parallel to this short side, and the two windows 19, located near each of the short sides of the plate, are aligned along another straight line parallel to this small side.

 In Fig. 9, the two lugs 18 and the two windows 19, located near each of the short sides of the plate, are arranged such that a lug 18 and a window 19 are aligned along a straight line parallel to this short side, l the lug 18 being located below the window 19, the other lug 18 and the other window 19 being aligned along another straight line parallel to this small side, the lug 18 being located above the window 19.

 Figs. 6 and 9 show that each lug 18 is located at a location which, relative to a median plane passing perpendicularly through the long sides of the plate, is symmetrical with the location where a window 19 is provided. Thanks to this arrangement, all the cross members 3 of a shelving unit can be identical parts: when two cross members 3 are mounted back to back, at the same level, between a front upright 1 and a rear upright 2, each lug 18 of each cross member 3 appears in a window 19 on the other cross member 3.

 Each cross member 3 is provided, near each of its short sides, with a hole 20 for the possible passage of bolts capable of reinforcing the fixing of the cross member 3 to the uprights 1, 2. The cross members 3 are also provided with a or several small holes 21 for the possible fixing of accessories.

 Fig. 10 is a detailed perspective view with partial cutaway. Two cross members 3 are mounted on the upright 1, the lugs 18 of the cross member 3 being engaged in the perforations 14 of the core 13 of the upright 1 and the windows 19 of the cross member 3 are located opposite the perforations 14 of the core 13 of the upright 1. By opening these windows 19, the lugs 18 of the cross member 3 opposite are visible. A horizontal shelf 4 fits, with its lateral edges 22, between two cross-members 3, in a space defined between the vertical part of the cross-members 3 and of the core 13. The edges 23 on the sides of the shelf 4, which do not are not supported on the crosspieces 3, are themselves double folded at right angles to the center and upwards of the shelf 4.

 Figs. 11, 12 and 13 show a stiffening assembly 5 according to the invention. This stiffening assembly 5 consists of a rectangular tube 24 carrying, at its ends, pieces 25 allowing the fixing of the stiffening assembly 5 to the uprights 1 or 2. To this end, the pieces 25 have hooks 26 suitable for s '' engage in perforations 15 buttonholes formed in the sides 11, 12 of the amount 1 or 2.

 The components of the shelving are simple in structure and can be produced economically. The assembly of the shelving can be done very quickly and practically without tools. In fact, this assembly can be done simply by hand, the use of a small mallet can sometimes facilitate the nesting of the elements.

 Thanks to the shape of the lugs 18 and to the hexagonal shape of the perforations 14, the fixing of the crosspieces 3 on the uprights 1, 2 is very easy and the pinning of the lugs 18 in the bottom of the perforations 14 ensures good rigidity of this fixation. The rigidity of the whole of the shelving is further increased by the installation of the shelves 4, each flange 22 of which is wedged in the space between the vertical part of a cross member 3 and the core 13 of the uprights 1 and 2 which connects this cross 3.

Claims (15)

 1.- Set of elements the assembly of which allows the construction of shelving comprising front and rear uprights, adjustable position crosspieces, which connect each front upright to the corresponding rear upright, and horizontal shelves;  each upright being a profile having a substantially T-shaped section, the central bar of which forms the core of the profile, perforations regularly spaced along the length of the upright being formed in the core of each upright;  - Each cross member consisting of a plate having essentially the shape of an oblong rectangle provided, near its short sides, lugs formed by punching, directed substantially towards the long side of the plate intended to form the lower side of the crossing;;
