Abstract
Description
CUVE DE WC PERFECTIONNEE ET DISPOSITIF ANTI
ECLABOUSSURES MIS EN OEUVRE.IMPROVED WC TANK AND ANTI-DEVICE
SPLASHES IMPLEMENTED.
The present invention relates to a water closet tank of the type comprising a siphon at a constant water level in a discharge pipe opening substantially in the center of the tank. Stagnant water in the siphon prevents odors from rising. However, this type of tank has a drawback for the user in that the fall of the faeces causes unpleasant splashes. The applicant has solved this problem by producing a water closet tank of the type comprising a siphon at constant water level in an evacuation pipe opening substantially in the center of the tank, this tank being provided with an anti -spatter placed above the water level. The present invention relates, of course, to any type of tank in which the discharge pipe opens substantially vertically from the water closet window.
The anti-splash device can of course be constituted by any means known in the state of the art, the innovation designed by the applicant resulting from the identification of a problem that has not been solved for many years, despite the disadvantages obvious that present the WC tanks known in the state of the art.
According to a first embodiment, the anti-splash device is constituted by a plurality of valves having a non-adherent upper surface, articulated between a rest position in which said valves are substantially contiguous and a discharge position in which said valves are dismissed.
The articulation can be constituted by a pivot, by flexible strips or by any other means known in the state of the art. The valves preferably form, in the closed position, a substantially conical element converging towards the constant water level. This conical element thus opposes the passage of odors. The fall of the faeces causes the valves to tilt around the joints. The conical element opens thus to let the faeces pass. On the other hand, splashes occurring when contact with the water level of the siphon is stopped by the valves in the closed position. In addition, the valves reduce the diffusion of bad odors.
According to an advantageous embodiment, the anti-splash device is constituted by an annular element whose external diameter corresponding substantially to the internal diameter of the discharge duct, this annular element comprises a plurality of articulation of the valves. The device according to this embodiment can be easily installed or removed from a common type watercloset tank.
According to a particular embodiment, the device comprises elastic means cooperating with the articulated valves to return them to the closed position at rest.
According to a variant, the anti-splash device consists of an annular element provided with a plurality of flexible, elastic petals, forming at rest a closed conical element, converging downwards, the surface of said petals being non-adherent. The fall of the faeces causes an elastic deformation of the petals which open to allow passage in the direction of the evacuation duct. As in the embodiment using the valves, the petals are opposed to raising it from the splashes. Due to their elasticity, said petals return to rest in their initial position in which they together form a closed conical element.
The petals can have any shape, colors and dimensions that are easy for a person skilled in the art to determine. Preferably, the shapes and colors are chosen so that said petals in a closed manner represent a flower.
According to a particular embodiment, the annular element comprises withdrawal means extending outside the water closet tank. These withdrawal elements are advantageously constituted by a flexible strip or a cord. This removal means makes it possible to remove the device for cleaning and to replace it in an easy and hygienic manner.
The present invention also relates to a splash-proof device, intended in particular for water-closet tanks, constituted by a rigid annular element provided with a plurality of obturating means substantially contiguous in the rest position in which they form a cone, the top of which is directed in the direction of the evacuation, the said closure means deviating during the passage of a body in the direction of the evacuation.
The shutter means can be actuated by electromagnetic means controlled by a passage detector arranged upstream. This electromagnetic means can be constituted by an electromagnet controlled by a detector using a photovoltaic cell.
Advantageously, a deodorant product is associated with the device according to the invention. This product can be constituted by a block of chemical substance known per se fixed on the annular element or in any other suitable location.
The present invention will be better understood from the drawings representing a particular example of embodiment or:
FIG. 1 represents a sectional view of a WC tank,
- Figure 2 shows a bottom view of a splash guard.
FIG. 1 represents a WC tank (1) comprising an evacuation pipe (2) in which the water level is constant due to the presence of a siphon. The anti-splash device consists of an annular element (3) provided with valves (4, 5) and a cord (6) accessible from the outside of the toilet tank (1).
Figure (2) shows the anti-splash device consisting of an annular element (3) whose outside diameter substantially corresponds to the inside diameter of the exhaust duct (2). This annular element is advantageously made of non-stick plastic. In order to obtain a satisfactory adaptation, the thickness of the annular element is smaller on the upper and lower edges than in the center. This annular element (3) comprises in the example described without limitation, radio arms (9, 10, 11, 12) provided with perpendicular pivots (13, 14, 15, 16). These pivots (13 to 16) are intended for the articulation of the valves (4, 5, 7, 8) made of non-adhesive plastic material, for example polyvinyl chloride. The shape of these valves corresponds substantially to angular sectors of a conical surface element. The fall of a heavy body in the circular surface delimited by the annular ring (3) causes the tilting of one or more valves (4, 5, 7, 8). This tilting allows on the one hand the passage of the solid body and on the other hand opposes the ascent of splashes on the upper surface of the water-closet tank (1).
The present invention is described in the foregoing by way of nonlimiting example. It is understood that a person skilled in the art can realize the object of the invention in many forms, both aesthetic and mechanical.
