Abstract

The anti-splash device comprises a ring 10 to receive faecal matter and flushing water, formed in segments 11 on which there are alternately arranged long arms 20 and short arms 30, the hingeing of which is limited by a bar 12, the unit floating on the surface of the water in the bowl. The arms have the function of a shock absorber and the surface area of the free water surface is too small to allow the projection of splashes upwards.

Claims

1. Anti-splash device for toilet bowl characterized in that it comprises

a receiving ring (10), of generally circular shape, comprising over its entire circumference a multiplicity of segments (11) between which there is a segmental intermediate part, each segment comprising a limiting bar (12) which is arranged on its inner side and which is parallel to it

a multiplicity of long arms (20) each comprising a main part (22) and an auxiliary part (23) which comprises a stud (231) engaged in a hole (22) in the main part, so that the auxiliary part can rotate freely relative to the main part, thereby preventing the toilet paper or the like from attaching to it, the main part having a hole (21) in the shape of a clover leaf in the upper part of which a corresponding segment can engage and whose the two sides are designed to limit the amplitude of pivoting of the arms (20); and

a multiplicity of short arms (30) comprising a hole (21) in the shape of a clover leaf identical to that of the main part of the long arm and in which is engaged a corresponding segment of the receiving ring in the same way as in the case of the long arm whereby, when the faeces fall on the surface of the water between the arms (20, 30) of the receiving ring (10), the surface area of the water is too small to allow the projection of splashes and if the faeces fall on the arms of the receiving ring (10), these fulfill a damping function thereby reducing the impulse force of the falling faeces and preventing, therefore, the water to be sprayed upwards.

Anti-splash device according to claim 1, characterized in that the receiving ring (10) - and the arms are made of plastic having a specific weight less than that of water and the plastic is chosen so as to have, and preferably has, a specific weight such that the device floats just enough to effect a reduction of said pulse force.

4. Anti-splash device according to claim 1, characterized in that the receiving ring (10) is in the form of a chain-like element of which the two free ends are connected to one another by latching, so as to form a closed circular element.

5. Anti-splash device according to claim 1, characterized in that the internal limiting bars (12) are designed so as to fulfill a limiting function to keep the arms directed radially permanently towards the center of the receiving ring ( 10).
