Abstract

The invention relates to a method for mounting (assembling) uppers with a projecting periphery, of footwear, and to a device for implementing it. The method of the invention is characterised in that it consists in slipping the upper 1 over a last 3 equipped with a peripheral shoulder 4 in the vicinity of its lower edge, serving for retention and positioning of the said periphery 2, so as to cause the said periphery to project from the last on which an insole 6 is placed, before or after placing of the upper, then in levelling (pounding-up) and adhesively bonding the said projecting part of the periphery 2 against the said insole 6 and, finely, in attaching a sole 7 by adhesive bonding. METHOD FOR MOUNTING RODS WITH OVERFLOWING ROUND
OF FOOTWEAR AND DEVICE FOR IMPLEMENTING SAME
The present invention relates to the mounting of rods with a circumference projecting from light indoor footwear, of the slipper type for example, or inside.

 More specifically, the invention relates to footwear of the kind comprising a closed upper or slap made of textile material such as canvas, felt, etc. provided, along its lower edge, with a continuous strip, generally similarly material, connected to the upper by costure and intended to be partially folded down for mounting against the external face of a first and sandwiched between the latter and an attached sole.

 The problem which arises with the fitting of such footwear is that of the regular folding of the overflowing strip so that the cost line, all around the upper, and which is visible, is well parallel to the sole.

 This requires, in the current mounting technique, to break down the mounting operation into several phases which involve several manipulations and take time.

 The object of the invention is precisely to overcome the drawbacks of this technique by proposing a new method substantially reducing both the number of manipulations and the total time necessary for mounting the footwear.

 To this end, the subject of the invention is a method for mounting rods with a circumference projecting from footwear, characterized in that it consists in threading the rod on a form provided with a peripheral shoulder in the vicinity of its lower edge. , serving to retain and position said periphery, so as to extend said periphery of the shape, on which is placed a first, before or after the establishment of the rod, then to fold and glue said projecting part of the periphery against said first and, finally, to attach by gluing a sole.

 Such a method makes it possible to have a perfect positioning of the projecting periphery, that is to say the junction between the periphery and the rod perfectly regular and parallel to the sole and, this, quickly and economically.

 Other characteristics and advantages will emerge from the description which follows of an embodiment of the method of the invention, description given by way of example only and with reference to the appended drawing in which the single figure represents schematically in vertical cross section a shape according to the invention for implementing the process and on which is threaded a rod with a projecting periphery during assembly.

 In this single figure there is shown at 1 a closed rod or flap, provided at its lower part with an overhanging periphery constituted by a narrow band 2 in closed loop connected by costure to the lower edge of the rod 1, over its entire periphery.

 The material of the rod 1 and the overhanging periphery 2 is generally a fabric, a fabric, a felt, or a skin, with a view to producing light footwear, from inside or outside, such as slippers, moccasins or the like.

 The protruding periphery 2 is intended, in the known manner, to be partially folded over a first, a sole, in particular of elastomer, without heel or with a very slight heel, being attached to the first.

 According to the invention, the rod 1 with its periphery 2 is placed on a special shape 3 provided, at its lower part, with a peripheral shoulder 4 serving to retain and position the inner bead 5 formed by the two ends edge to edge sewn together of the rod 1 and the periphery 2.

 The shoulder 4 is located at a distance from the lower face 3a of the shape 3 less than the height of the periphery 2, in order to allow the latter to be folded down, as illustrated in 2 ', on the external face of a first 6 applied against form 3 in the usual way.

 This first 6 is placed against the form 3, either before the threading of the rod 1 on the form, or after.

 The periphery 2 is folded in 2 'against the first 6 and glued, in the known manner, using a knurl pressing the periphery against the first with prior injection of an appropriate adhesive.

 Such a device is perfectly known in itself and does not need to be described in more detail.

 Once the circumference 2 has been folded down, all that remains is to attach and fix by gluing a sole 7 on the first 6 and the folded part 2 ′ of the circumference.

 The retention of the bead 5 by the shoulder 4 of the form 3 ensures, in accordance with the invention, perfect parallelism of the line of separation between the rod 1 and the periphery 2 with the sole 7.

 Indeed, the tensile forces exerted by the bonding wheel of the periphery 2 on the first, joined to the manipulations necessary to scroll under the wheel all the periphery of the assembly form 3-rod 1-periphery 2 first 6, are such that 'in the absence of said shoulder 4 the line of separation between parts 1 and 2 would inevitably, after folding part 2, irregular and unsightly.

 The provision of the shoulder 4 keeps the bead perfectly in place all the time of the folding down of the part 2, whatever the variations in tension exerted on this part during the folding down and the bonding.

 Thus, with a minimum of handling and time, an article of footwear with a shank with a circumference overflowing with a perfectly regular appearance is obtained.

 Finally, the invention is obviously not limited to the embodiment shown and described above, but on the contrary covers all variants thereof, in particular as regards the shapes, dimensions and arrangement of said peripheral shoulder 4 formed in the vicinity of the shape. lower 3a of said form 3.

A method of mounting rods (1) with an overhanging periphery (2) of footwear, characterized in that it consists in threading the rod (1) on a form (3) provided with a peripheral shoulder (4) in the vicinity of its lower edge, serving as a retaining and positioning of said periphery (2), so as to cause said periphery to extend beyond the shape, on which a first (6) is put in place, before or after the establishment of the rod, then fold and glue said projecting portion of the periphery (2) against said first (6) and, finally, to attach by gluing a sole (7).  2. Shape for implementing the method according to claim 1, characterized in that it comprises, at its periphery, in the vicinity of its lower face (3a), a shoulder (4) serving to retain the projection (5 ) internal to the rod (1) formed by the edge-to-edge connection of the rod (1) and the projecting periphery (2).
