Abstract

The subject of the invention is an espagnolette closure. At one end, each rod 4 and 5 is made in a single operation in order to produce a hook 6 or 7, whilst the other end is grooved at 8 on the only part capable of receiving the web 9 and thus blocking the rotation of the handle 3 on the espagnolette as a whole. Each hook 6, 7 is made from the espagnolette itself and comprises an indentation 14, 15 which allows the passage of a loop 10, 11. The closure is used on a leaf for a right-closing or left-closing shutter.

Description

 The subject of the invention is a shutter closure for a left or right leaf, for a shutter or window, the closure hooks of which are fashioned directly from the rod.

 The state of the art can be defined by patent FR-A-2,515,241.

 This patent describes a Spanish shutter composed of a rod which is a round grooved tube over its entire length, the bit comes to stemboiter around the hollow round tube and lock in said groove by a repressed groove. The top and bottom hooks are welded to their fixing end piece which fits onto the end of the rod.

 The fact that the rod is grooved over its entire length requires large investment of machinery and therefore increases the cost price of the spanish, while the groove is useful and functional only at the bit when the hooks are welded .

 The manufacture of the top and bottom hooks, their welding on end caps and their installation at the top and bottom ends of the rod increase the cost of manufacturing the spanish.

 The invention tends to solve these problems. It makes it possible to obtain a Spanish pan at a lower manufacturing cost, while standardizing and facilitating installation on construction sites.

Thus, the espanette according to the invention allows
- adjust the length of the rod by simple cutting,
- place the handle at the required height,
- to use a espagnolette for both a left shutter and
for a right shutter
- to store a single type of spanish for all types of installation,
on all heights of shutters.

 The espanette, according to the invention, is composed of a rod formed from a round tube which, once cut at the height of the axis of the handle, forms a high rod and a low rod: at a extremity each rod is shaped in a single operation to give a hook shape, while the other end is grooved on the only part capable of receiving the bit and thus block its rotation on the rod.

 Each hook fashioned from the rod has a notch which allows the passage of a lace.

 Means for stopping the top and bottom of the laces are provided on each rod, either by forming the tube, or by placing a washer.

 The attached drawings are given as indicative and non-limiting examples. They represent a preferred embodiment according to the invention. They will allow the invention to be easily understood.

 Figure 1 is a front view of the spanette according to the invention.

 Figure 2 is a view of the rod of the spanish cut at the height of the axis of the handle to form the upper and lower rods.

 Figure 3 is a sectional view of the espagnolette closure, seen along the cutting axes MM shown in Figure 1. This Figure 3 highlights the establishment of the bit at the upper and lower rods of the closure.

 Figure 4 is a sectional view along the axis N-N, shown in Figure 2 and this, so as to highlight the stop means provided on each upper and lower rod for maintaining the laces.

 The plate 1, according to the invention, is composed of a rod 2 formed from a round tube which, once cut at the height of the axis of the handle 3 forms a high rod 4 and a low rod 5.

 At one end, each rod 4, 5 is shaped in a single operation to give shape to a hook 6, 7, while the other end is grooved at 8 on the only part capable of receiving the bit 9 and thus block its rotation on the rod.

 Each hook 6, 7, fashioned directly on the rod, has a notch 14, 15 which allows the passage of an upper lace 10 or a lower lace 11. Means for stopping the top and bottom of the laces 10 and 11 are provided on each rod 4, 5. These stop means 12, 13 are formed either by forming the tube, or by placing a washer 12, 131.

 Of course, apart from the ring, a bulge can act as a stop means.

 The advantage of the shutter closure for shutter or window leaves lies in its manufacturing cost. Indeed, in a single operation the hooks are shaped directly on the tube.

 The groove 8 is not formed over the entire length of the tubes, but only at the part capable of receiving the handle 3.

 If the handle 3 loosens, the lower part of the rod 5 does not fall because it is retained by the stop means 13, said stop means possibly being a crimped or elastic washer, etc.

Spanish shutter for shutter or window sash, composed of a rod formed from a round tube which once cut at the height of the axis of the handle (3) forms a high rod (4) and a low rod (5), characterized by the fact  qu has one end, each rod (4) and (5) is shaped in a single operation to give shape to a hook (6) or (7) while the other end is grooved in (8) on the only suceptible part to receive the bit (9) and thus block the rotation of the handle (3) on the entire rod.  2. Spanish shutter according to claim 1, characterized in that  that each hook (6,7) is fashioned from the same rod and has a notch (14,15) which allows the passage of a lace (10,11).  3. Spanish shutter according to any one of claims 1 or 2, characterized by the fact  that means for stopping the top and bottom of the laces (10,11) are provided on each high low rod (4,5). 4.
