Abstract

This device comprises: - a movable transverse partition 2 which can be moved translationally towards and away from a fixed transverse partition 1 of the van so that at least in the distanced position, the side door is located between the two partitions. - means 3, 4, 5 for guiding this movable transverse partition in longitudinal translation, - on the movable partition and on the fixed partition, seats 11, 12 which can be folded up vertically, these seats extending transversely to the direction of forward travel of the van and being accessible through the said side door of the latter, and - a linkage 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, simultaneously bringing the seats horizontal, moving the movable partition away with respect to the fixed partition and immobilising the movable partition in the service position. The linkage is configured so that the weight of the passenger exerted on the seat forces this linkage in the direction providing the immobilisation of the movable partition.
