Abstract

The support strip section (1), in the form of a letter E, has a centre bar of two walls (2,2') stepped apart (5,5') from about mid-depth and joined elsewhere by a series of spaced lugs (3,3'). The walls project beyond the ends of the sides (7,7') to create space (6) between the end and the rim (8,8') to accept the panel thickness. The strip is wall-mounted through holes (11,11'). Panels and shelves may be retained by suitable clips fitting into the space between the centre-bar walls, whilst beading may be inserted in the other spaces for ornament. ADVANTAGE - Robust and aesthetically pleasing, may be used with different combinations of e.g. decorative panels, shelves and other features.

  However, the profiles known to date most often have the disadvantage of being relatively bulky and unattractive, which affects the quality of the arrangements they allow to achieve. In particular, the middle part of these profiles which is visible between the shelves is generally too wide, and on the other hand their lateral parts are often visible behind the shelves, as is the system of

fixing therein provided.

  The present invention aims to remedy these various drawbacks of known profiles by proposing a new type of profile which combines the aesthetic qualities with the qualities of

  robustness essential for this kind of product.

  The profile according to the invention in fact makes it possible to support high loads while offering a particularly advantageous aesthetic appearance, and its design allows easy attachment of so-called "filling" panels, which serve, as well as

  has already been said, for the dressing and / or decoration of the walls.

  The rack profile according to the invention has for this purpose the characteristic of being an "E" shaped profile comprising a double core and two wings of height less than that of the core, so as to allow insertion filling panels in the space delimited by the upper edge of each

  wing and the upper edge of each soul.

  In addition, the double core of the profile according to the invention offers the advantage of having on the one hand a particularly narrow upper part, therefore not very visible between the cladding panels and / or the shelves, and on the other hand include about halfway up a double plunge which increases the solidity of the

  Thus, in a first mode of use, the profile according to the invention can be used only as a structure for holding filling panels chosen for decorative purposes. In this case, the panels are fixed, in the upper and lower parts, by clips inserted in the slots 4 of the

streamlined.

  In a second mode of use, the profile according to the invention can be used both as a structure for holding filling panels and as a structure for supporting shelves. In this case, the filling panels are first put in place, then the shelves, by means of hanging brackets

  in slots 4 by any suitable means.

  Of course, the shelves can be replaced at will by furniture or rods, or other types of racks. Finally, in a third mode of use, the profile -3- according to the invention can be used only as a support structure for shelves or other carriers. In this case, wooden rods of the appropriate dimensions can be inserted for aesthetic purposes in the free spaces delimited by the core and each wing. The profile according to the invention can be made of any material capable of being suitable for this type of product, however it is advantageously made of aluminum or aluminum alloy. It goes without saying that the profile which has just been described can undergo a certain number of modifications without going out

of the scope of the present invention.
