Abstract

The invention relates to a device for gathering and discharging roots, for example beet, unearthed by a plough share of a lifting machine. According to the invention, the device consists of two freely rotating elements in the form of discs 16', 17' or of sun wheels having on their periphery tines (teeth) 29 or projections penetrating into the ground, the said rotary elements which roll over the ground on either side of a row of beet, gathering the latter by moving close to their periphery and discharging them in the interaction with a wheel which is placed between them and the vans 26 of which with a tangential effect throw the beet backwards either onto the ground, or onto any known device 30 for cleaning and transfer.
