Abstract

The invention relates to a strap closure comprising a hook interacting with a closed loop. Strap closure.

The invention relates to a strap closure comprising a hook cooperating with a closed loop.

In such a simple assembly, the accidental disassembly of the hook-loop couple is very frequent. To overcome this drawback, hooks of the carabiner type are used in which the opening of the hook is closed by a pivoting or sliding member recalled by spring or constituted by a spring. Such carabiners, if they ensure a secure closing of the hook, are difficult to handle when opening them, at a relatively high cost price due to the presence of a shutter. They are also quite fragile.

The present invention aims to obtain a hook-loop assembly not having a shutter while retaining a high closing security and a very low cost price.

To this end, the closure according to the invention is characterized in that said hook comprises a window provided with a lateral slot opening to the outside, the loop having a width less than the width of said window, the thickness of said loop being equal, apart from play, to the height of said slot.

The invention will be clearly understood on reading the following description made with reference to the accompanying drawing, the single figure of which is a schematic plan view, partially in section, of a closure according to an exemplary embodiment of the invention.

In the example described, the closure comprises a hook 1 fixed to the end of a strap and cooperating with a loop 2 fixed to the end of another strap. One of the two straps can be removed, the hook 1 or the loop 2 being directly attached to a bag or luggage.

The hook 1 is in one piece with a plate 3 provided with one or more slots 4 for the passage and the adjustment of the strap, as is well known. Between the hook 1 and the plate 3 is formed a window 5 of width L. The upper side of the opening 5 is extended by a through slot 6.

The loop 2 is integral with a plate 7 with one or more slots 4 for fixing a strap. Thickness
E of the loop is equal, apart from the clearances, to the height h of the slot 6, so that the introduction of the loop 2 into the slot 6, and especially its extraction, takes place only for a precise position of the loop in the extension of the slot.

The difficulty of extracting the loop is reinforced by the fact that its width m is as large as possible. This width m is of course less than the width L of the window to accommodate the loop 2 in the opening 5.

The hook 1-3 can be manufactured by molding or by cutting a blank: The loop 2-7 can also be injected or obtained from a cut blank.

The assembly is very economical with a high closing security.

The strap closure can simultaneously use two hooks mounted symmetrically on the same strap strip and cooperating with a single closed loop. A very secure closure is thus obtained which requires loosening of the strap before the two hooks can be released successively.

 Strap closure comprising a hook cooperating with a loop for closing a strap, characterized in that said hook (1) comprises a window (5) provided with a lateral slot (6) opening outwards, the loop t2) having a width (m) less than the width (L) of said window (5), the thickness (E) of said loop (2) being equal, apart from play, to the height (h) of said slot (6). 2.- Closure according to claim 1, characterized in that the hook (1) and / or the loop (2) are injected by molding. 3.- Closure according to claim 1, characterized in that the hook (1) and / or the loop (2) are obtained from blanks. 4.- strap closure, characterized in that it comprises two hooks (1) according to one of claims 1 to 3, mounted symmetrically on the same strap strip and cooperating with a single closed loop (2).
