Abstract

The present invention relates to an external cladding element for a tank, particularly made of plastic, of cylindrical or prismatic shape, comprising a lateral wall and a bottom. This cladding element is characterised in that it comprises a main part 5 with a cylindrical or prismatic internal surface, having an internal cross-section which is equal to or slightly greater than the external cross-section of the lateral wall 3 of the tank 1, so as to be able to surround this lateral wall 3 closely, and an upper rim 6 extending inwards, from the upper end of the main part 2, over a width which is substantially equal to the thickness of the lateral wall 3 of the tank and coming to bear on the upper edge 3a of this lateral wall.
