Abstract

The invention relates to a device 2 in the form of a deformable parallelogram, supporting a pedal at the end. It is articulated 5 onto a crank 1, designed to receive it, thus forming part of the parallelogram, and of conventional length. When a force is applied to the pedal, the parallelogram flattens and extends over the crank which supports it, thus increasing, with its addition, the lever length of this crank. When the applied force ends when reascending, a spring 4 incorporated with the device straightens it and the crank resumes its normal length, thus limiting the circumferential distance travelled by the pedal about the pedal-crank axis.
