Abstract

Child's folding chair, capable of being fitted onto a surface, in particular a table top. The invention relates to a device making it possible to fold a chair, capable of being fitted quickly onto tables, thus making it easily transportable. The chair consists of two bent metallic tubular support arms 1 and 2, of a part made of washable flexible material, forming in one continuous strip the seat and backrest 3 which fits onto the said tubular arms. The chair is equipped with a strap 9 for slipping in a belt 8. The ends of each arm are equipped with rubber end pieces 4. Two compass-shaped articulated bars 5 fastened underneath the tubes 1 and 2 by riveted pins 6 ensure, by means of the pins 7, the possibility of extending and retracting the assembly. Immobilisation of the compasses in order to make the chair rigid ready for use, is ensured by a notch and a stop 10 and 10', and by punched parts 11 and 11'. The safety belt 8, passing through the strap 9 of the seat 3 and fastened to the arms 1 and 2, keeps the child in the seated position. The invention applies to the field of household furniture, in boats and caravans and in restaurants.

Description

 The present invention relates to a child seat, intended to be adapted on a table or any horizontal flat surface, foldable, foldable, thus making it compact and easy to transport.

 Traditionally, indoor children's chairs are bulky and non-transportable because the supporting feet occupy a large area on the floor. In order to remedy this drawback, it has been proposed, in particular by Patent No. FR 1,399,681 of April 8, 1964, a smoldering seat to adapt directly to a table top, consisting of two elements of bent steel tubes provided with, flexible ends at each of their ends. One end of each element is supported on the upper part of the table near its edge and the other ends are supported by leverage under the D1 ateaulde the table in a more eloionee area of the edge than the first ends.

These two elements are connected to each other by a rigid seat and back.

 The device according to the invention makes it possible to quickly fold and unfold such a type of seat by means of two articulated bars while retaining at the seat the necessary rigidity and its ability to be adapted on a table.

 In the drawings, provided by way of illustration of the invention, Figure 1 shows, in perspective, the unfolded seat ready for use.

 The seat consists of two metal tubular support arms (1) and (2) each comprising a bent vertical part '-90 at both ends. At the upper part, the elbow is extended by a horizontal part, itself bent at 900? And comprising a rubber end piece (4). At the lower part, the elbow is extended by a horizontal part, followed by an oblique part at the end of which an elbow again makes the axis of the tuZe perpendicular to the underside of the table; -the end also includes a rubber tip (4). It is expected that the distance between the ends of the upper and lower part is equivalent to the thickness of a conventional table. A continuous strip of washable flexible material, forming seat and backrest (3), fits on the arms, either by sewing, or by nipples driven into menadal holes in the tubular arms, or by metal jumpers acting by spring system around the tubular arms. At the front central end of the seat, there is a strap (9) intended to receive a seat belt (8). Two articulated metal bars (5) acting around fixed (6) and mobile (7) shoreline axes, and located below the tubes (1) and (2), ensure the possibility of extension and retraction of the assembly . These articulated bars comprise a system for blocking in opening by a stop (10) and (10 ') and immobilization by punched parts (11) and (11') in the longitudinal position during use.

A safety belt (8) attached to the back and the lower part of the arms (1) and (2) and passing through the loop of the strap (9) of his (3), keeps the child in the position seated.

 The object of the invention is to provide a quick and easy solution for folding the seat by pressing with one hand on the articulated bars (5), rib opposite to the stop (10), in order to produce their deflection. . The unfolding of the seat is done by acting in reverse and pushing with the hand to bring the branches of each compass in the extension of one another. Locking in this position ensures, by means of the stop (10) and (10 ') and the punched parts (11) and (11'), as a priority, the rigidity in the spacing necessary for use of the seat, forming a spacer. It also makes it possible to provide additional support to the flexible part of the seat and to prevent the sagging triggered under the effect of the weight of the child.

 The device according to the invention is particularly intended for rapid unfolding and folding of a child seat which can be adapted on a tray, in particular a table. The invention is applicable to the field of home furniture, in boats and caravans, as well as restaurants.

 It remains to be understood that the invention is not limited to the embodiment described and shown but that it encompasses all variants thereof, thus the spaced positioning of the bars under the tubes in the seat area is not limiting, other positions that can be considered, eg. distributed between seat and backrest.

Claims (2)

 1) Child seat, foldable, which can be adapted on a tray, in particular a table, of the type constituted by two metal tubular support arms (1) and (2), bent, provided, at each of their ends, - rubber end caps (4), supporting a backrest and a seat (3), characterized in that this backrest and this seat are produced by a continuous strip of washable flexible material adapting to said tubular arms, and in that two articulated bars in the form of a compass (5) fixed to the tubes (1) and (2) by riveted axes (6) provide, via the axes (7), the stop (10) and (10 '), the parts punched (11) and (11 ') maintaining the shape of the assembly and allow folding by bringing together the two support arms (1) and (2).  2) The device according to claim 1, is characterized in that the articulated bars (5) are fixed, spaced apart, to the lower part of the tubes (1) and (2), thus wobbling, as a spacer, to stiffen the assembly in the use position and to prevent flexing triggered by the weight of the child.
