Abstract

The invention relates to a building or apartment door, the leaf 1 of which is housed in the rabbet of a fixed framing 3. The external face of the leaf 1 is equipped with a covering panel 11, the external face 12 of which is flush with the plane 6 defined by the framing 3. Application : elimination of the support point for a crowbar in order to combat burglaries and break-ins.

Description

 The present invention relates to a knife of a new type, intended to equip the front door of a room, to prevent, or at least delay its break-in by burglars.

We know that most burglaries are currently carried out in a very short time. Burglars often use a crowbar, or a teacher's pliers, the beak of which they insert into the rebate of the door. By then taking support on the same panel of the door, or on its frame, they indeed produce the lever which bursts the closure
This brutal technique is noisy but it is used because it allows burglars to act in a very short time
We know that we could avoid a significant proportion of burglaries, simply by complicating and slowing down the operations for breaking in the door. The operation being prolonged, the attention of passers-by or neighbors is attracted, and burglars do not persist not
The present invention relates to a device of this type, intended to complicate the maneuver of burglars, that is to say to discourage them, without resorting to the establishment of a real armored door which we know that '' it is far too expensive for ordinary household use
A burglar-resistant door according to the invention comprises at least one leaf whose external face is hollow, relative to the fixed frame which surrounds it, and it is characterized in that the external face of the leaf is covered by a covering panel whose contour is embedded in the inner contour of the frame, and whose outer face is flush or even slightly exceeds, the plane defined at this location by the fixed frame. Thus, in the event of an attempted break-in, any point of support is removed for the crowbar of a possible burglar. It therefore becomes impossible for him to directly reach the rebate of the door to make it burst using the usual technique.

The device according to the invention presents not only the advantage of being effective, but also that of being inexpensive. In addition, it can equip doors specially built according to this structure but also be retrofitted, inexpensively, on already existing doors

Figure 1 is a perspective view in partial section, showing a known type of entrance door, of the kind commonly encountered to access apartments in a building

There is shown in FIGS. 1 and 2, a building door, comprising an opening or swinging panel 1, housed in the rebate 2 of a fixed frame 3. According to the usual technique, the outer face 4 of the leaf 1 is set back a length 5 relative to the plane 6 defined by the corresponding face of the fixed frame 3
We know that, to open this door with affraction, burglars introduce the beak 7 of a crowbar 8 between the upright 3, and the leaf 1
Then, the heel 9 of the crowbar 8 resting on the outer face 4 of the leaf 1, the burglar leverages, as indicated in FIG. 1 by the arrow 10 until the door yields, or its frame
According to the invention, a covering panel 11 is provided on the front face 4 of the leaf 1, the periphery of which corresponds as exactly as possible to the internal periphery of the fixed frame 3. In addition, the thickness of this panel 11 is chosen so that the outer face 12 is flush with the surrounding plane 6
Thanks to this arrangement, a burglar who would introduce the beak 7 of his crowbar 8 into the gap 13 which surrounds the trim panel 12, could not get anything, and especially not make the door yield
Of course, the covering panel 11 can be made in one piece with the leaf 1. It can also, in other cases, be added afterwards to the leaf 1, by gluing, by screwing, or by any other known technique.
The device according to the invention can be used on doors of various types, even on glass doors, as illustrated in FIGS. 3 to 5. In this case, the covering panel 11 is removably mounted, thanks to screws 14 and nuts 15, accessible from the inside of the leaf 1
In normal operation, the leaf 1 is equipped with transparent panes 16 which, of course, offer no resistance against an attempted break-in. On the other hand, when the inhabitants of the villa are absent for a longer period of time, he whistles for them to set up the covering panel 11 as illustrated in FIGS. 4 and 5, so that the outer face 12 of this is flush, as before the surrounding plan 6 defined by the frame 3
Of course, it would not go beyond the ambit of the invention to replace the screws 14 and the nuts 15 by any other removable fixing means, inaccessible from the outside when the door is closed (FIG. 4).

 Similarly ~, the door may have a single leaf 1, or two leaves 1 according to the known arrangement.

 One could also reduce the covering panel 11 to its only periphery. In this case, it would present itself in the form of a frame whose central part would remain bare. Such a frame could for example permanently equip a glass door of the kind illustrated in FIGS. 3 to 5: its hollowed-out central part would permanently leave the windows 16 visible.

INCOME  1 - Burglar-proof door comprising at least one leaf (1) whose outer face (4) is hollow relative to the fixed frame (3) which surrounds it characterized in that the outer face (4) of the leaf -1) is covered by a covering panel (11) whose contour is embedded in the inner contour of the frame (3), and whose outer face (12) is flush with or even slightly exceeds the plane (6) defined there by the fixed frame (3).  2 -Anti-burglary device for a door according to claim 1, to equip the leaf (1) with a door surrounded by a fixed frame (3) which defines an external plane (6), characterized in that it comprises a covering panel (11) attached, after the fact, to the leaf (1) to fit into the internal contour of the frame (3) and to be flush with, or even exceed, the plane  (6) by its outer face (12).  3 - Device according to claim 2 characterized in that it is removably attached to the leaf (1) which comprises at least one window (16).  4 - Burglar-proof door according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that it comprises a single leaf (1).  5 - burglar-resistant door according to any one of claims 1 to 3, characterized in that it  the has two leaves (1).  6 - Burglar-proof door according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the covering panel (11) has its central part hollowed out, so that it reduces itself to a frame, in particular to equip a glass door, the windows (16) of which then remain visible.
