Abstract

The invention relates to an apparatus intended to open folded bags taken from a reserve and to present them in the position for receiving goods. The device consists of a slide 3 actuating, via its pushing movement, belts 20 equipped with fingers 21 which then position a bag 2 taken from a reserve 1 between two plates 4 and 24 equipped with suction pads 6. Re-opening of the slide 3 gives rise to a reduced pressure (vacuum) in the suction pads 6, the latter hold the bag 2 against the plates 4 and 24, and the latter being moved apart by the slide 3 gives rise to opening of the bag 2. The exit of the two hooks 7 and 18 at the end of travel of the slide 3 holds the bag 2 open. The device according to the invention is intended particularly for opening supermarket bags with a view to these being filled with goods by the customers.
