Abstract

Double glazing inside which a fluid is made to circulate or to stay in order to subject it to a displacement or to a chemical reaction with a view to obtaining on request an opaque or translucent appearance of the window. The invention consists in placing in the double glazing a fluid which becomes tinted, either as a result of a chemical reaction by way of an electric current or by the displacement of a colourless fluid pushed out by a coloured fluid, this occurring under the effect of a mechanical pressure.

Description

The present invention aims to make the windows or display cases translucent or opaque on demand
Today the state of the art means that the windows which are translucent or opaque are partly or completely tinted in the case of clear windows we use classic curtains or shutters
The invention consists in using the conventional double glazing system in the techniques / known to date. Inside the space which resides between the two panes, a liquid or a colored or clear gas is penetrated by some means , in the latter case their coloration will be obtained by an electric current through two electrodes, as soon as the said current is cut off the liquid or gas will regain its initial clarity. In the case of gas or precoloured liquid it will be made to penetrate double glazing by means of a pump, the piston of which, moving, will circulate the various fluids, thus the precoloured fluid, penetrating into the double glazing, will expel the air that; There remains in the other chamber of the pump, at this time of the operation the double glazing with an appearance colored by the fluid which it contains. To make this double glazing its clear and transparent appearance the operation of the piston reverse will push the air in the opposite direction forcing the colored liquid inside the pump. If the use of a colored or clear gas is adopted the double glazing will have on one side an expandable membrane which will separate the two chambers of the pump, thus avoiding the gas to mix, this so-called membrane will even allow to use only air, at this time it is the membrane which will have its coloring, this membrane is in fact only an expandable pocket which by inflating comes to fill the double glazing and give it the 'coloring with which it is endowed
The operation of the pump piston is done mechanically either manually or through a small electric motor. The extendable pocket will be mounted in the double glazing in an interchangeable way, which will allow you to easily change the colors and to be able to quickly repair any leaks, for example
a figure I / # represents the double glazing in its frame. in this section we can distinguish that the double glazing is constituted by two panes I and supported by the frame or the frame 10 through seals 13, the pump mechanical 5 through the piston 6 exerts a pressure on the residing fluid by 7 inflating the membrane 12 which will push the air between the two panes to return it into the chamber 9 of the pump, by the tube 2.The part 14 is a form of interchangeable cassette inside which is the I2 stretch membrane
In FIG. 2/3, a fluid 16 is used which permanently resides in the double glazing, the electrodes I5 diffuse an electric current which by chemical reaction colors the flow /
In figure 3/3 we use a liquid I7 which is tinted by av-ance (ex :: mercury) in the case of the example we will obtain either a totally clear glass or all or part opaque
The peculiarity of Figure I / g is that we use only air which, when moving comes to maneuver the tinted stretch membrane, this swelling creates a film of color or opaque. system can be used with a colorless or transparent membrane but in this case it is the gas from one of the two chambers 7 or 9 which will be tinted or opaque
The invention is applicable as much in the building industry (picture windows of towers or -of a private house) as in the automotive industry (replacing conventional mechanical curtains currently existing). It could have an application in very specific fields such as jewelry stores to mitigate the attraction of thieves
In summary it can have an interesting application in any place equipped with glass in order to protect from light or prying eyes
I would like to draw attention to the fact that when
the system is electrically controlled it can undergo a programming and thus act at defined times
