Abstract

The mechanism is intended for cutting leeks to a given length and cleaning them. It comprises transport means (parallel endless belts) to move successive leeks in vertical position with the root ends uppermost whilst rotating them, (rotary) cutters to top the leeks, and water spray jets directed at the cut leeks. One of the belts is preferably pressurised in the direction towards the other by spring-loaded rollers whilst the belts are driven at speeds differing by 10-15% to produce rotation of the leeks. Cutting length is preferably determined by a vertically adjustable stop arranged over the entry side of the belts.

Dans les machines connues jusqu'à présent dans lesquelles les poireaux sont en position horizontale, le nettoyage effectué à l'eau ne parvient pas a une propreté satisfaisante, ce qui entraîne des plaintes de la part des vendeurs et exportateurs. Ces plaintes se rapportent essentiellement aux restes de salissures dans la barbe et dans les aisselles des poireaux, c'est-a-dire dans les zones de passage entre les feuilles deployees et la tige, sur la face interne des pétioles sur la tige, ainsi qu'aux salissures sur les feuilles. Dans les machines de lavage, on utilise des jets d'eau légèrement dirigés vers le bas, ce qui jusqu'a présent n'a pas permis d'éliminer totalement par exemple les salissures des aisselles.De plus, les méthodes de lavage dans les machines de nettoyage connues jusqu'a présent ne satisfont pas aux exigences récentes en matière de propreté telles que définies par la
Communauté Economique Européenne, par lesquelles la position en ce qui concerne la concurrence, de ceux qui ne peuvent satisfaire à ces exigences est sévèrement prise à partie. Le mécanisme pour pincer, faire avancer et pivoter consiste en des bandes ou courroies sans fin 1 et 2. A la sortie de la machine, c'est-à-dire du coté où les poireaux nettoyés ne sont plus tenus par les courroies d'entraînement 1 et 2, est placée une roue à friction 17 qui entraîne un plateau tournant 18 sur lequel parviennent les poireaux lavés. Le nettoyage de ces poireaux est effectuée a l'aide d'eau qui est projetée sur eux par un ensemble de gicleurs.
