Abstract

The invention relates to an axial-compression spring electrical contact comprising a so-called fixed element or terminal intended to receive the supply conductor and a movable element or contact head intended to interact with an opposing contact, the two elements being connected via a conductor which can be deformed by longitudinal compression, which conductor is constituted by a metal braid and which elements are stressed one in opposition to the other by means of a helical spring, working in compression, which surrounds the metal braid and which interacts by its ends with bearing surfaces carried respectively by the terminal and by the contact head. According to the invention, the cylindrical body 10b of the contact head 10 has a diameter slightly less than the internal diameter of the helical spring 15, and it is provided with a housing 17 for a member 18 inserted laterally into the said housing and projecting sufficiently with respect to the head 10 in order to constitute the bearing surface of the corresponding end of the spring 15.
