Abstract

It comprises an auxiliary covering tube 4 centred by its rear end on a bulged outer bearing surface 1a of the small-diameter barrel tube 1 intended for firing bullets and fastened at the end to the outer tube 3; said tube 4, connected externally to the juxtaposed tube 2 intended for cartridge firing by the longitudinal band 5, allowing, by virtue of the appreciable play formed between its bore and the outer profile of the barrel tube 1, the end engagement of an eccentric plug 6, the rotation of which allows the adjustment of the impact of the mouth of said tube 1 in relation to said tube 2; said plug 6 being fastened after adjustment; a sound-attenuating reducer with wads 11 for fitting or not into the cartridge tube in order to obtain two barrels allowing the firing of bullets. The invention can be used for hunting rifles and carbines.

Description

 The present invention relates to shotguns with juxtaposed barrels, in particular a device for coupling and orienting barrel tubes of different diameters, mounted on the same hoop. One of the barrels of normal diameter is intended to fire the cartridges, while the second juxtaposed barrel of reduced diameter: internally rifled, authorizes the shooting of the balls. A sound reducing moderator which can also optionally be fitted in the cartridge tube to obtain a similar or non-similar caliber for the two barrel tubes.

 According to the invention, the coupling of the barrel tubes of different outside diameters, is effected by means of an auxiliary covering tube, centered from its rear end on an external bearing of the striped tube arranged in line with the hoop and reamed at the front to allow significant play with respect to the front part of said striped tube. The play allowing the oration in all directions of the mouth of said striped tube by means of an eccentric plug, for adjusting the impact.

 According to another characteristic, the auxiliary covering tube has the same external profile and dimension as the juxtaposed barrel tube, in order to authorize the fixing of 1 conventional coupling strip, sighting member, or the like which connects the said auxiliary tube and the cartridge tube, independently i rifled barrel tube and its means of orientation from its free end.

According to another characteristic, the barrel tube intended for cartridge firing optionally receives a sound moderator reducer, to authorize the firing of bullet or cartridges of the same diameter or of different diameter than that of the striped tube, with in front of guide rods of a succession of openwork and sliding flanges centered externally in the bore of the barrel tube and connected together by coil springs or spacers. This device for coupling and orienting juxtaposed barrel tubes of different calibers for shotguns or other weapons, is established from two barrel tubes (1 and 2) arranged in juxtaposition and mounted along their rear line ends. inside of a hoop (3).

 One of the barrel tubes, the left tube (2), in the example of the drawing, is produced entirely in the known manner, with a smooth dimensioned bore, for the use and firing of conventional cartridges, while the juxtaposed straight tube (1) is established with a corresponding reduced diameter, rifled bore, to allow housing and shooting of bullets.

 The striped tubing (1) is shaped externally to constitute at its rear end a cylindrical bulge or carried (la) in. The centering of the corresponding end of a covering tube (4) which bears against the front transverse face (3a ) of the hoop (3) and is fixed to it by brazing.

 The covering tube (4) reproduces exactly in shape and e dimensions, the external profile of the cartridge tube (2) so as to be connected to it transversely in the known manner by means of a profiled strip (5) arranged longitudinally.

 I1 must be considered that the bore of the covering tube (4) allows the front to obtain, along a great length, a large circular play relative to the periphery of the striped tube (1) for its circular adjustment and by following the rigorous positioning of the mouth relative to said tube (4) according to the shooting conditions of each hunter.

 To this end, a shouldered adjustment plug (6) is centered by its rear bearing (6a) in the extreme bore of the covering tube (4), while its collar (6b) forms a stop and extension of its external profile. .

Therefore, it is understood that the manual rotation of said plug (6) allows to move away or bring radially and circularly 1 axis of the mouth of the striped tube (1) relative to the left tube (2), to obtain the adjustment of the spacing, when adjusting the weapon according to the shooting conditions of each hunter.

 The adjustment obtained, the plug (6) is fixed by brazing or otherwise on the tubes (1 and 4) or possibly on a single tube.

 The advantages are apparent from the description. We note in particular - The use of a conventional barrel tube used for firing cartridges to form the tube (4) covering the bullet tube, retaining its size and profile both outside and inside .

- The ease of adjusting and assembling the striped tube relative to the rigid tube (2) and covering tube (4) assembly.

- The perfect and rigid assembly of the covering tube (4) and the tube (2) for firing cartridges by means of the profiled strip (5) of any type with or without a sighting raising device.

 It must be considered that it is also possible to engage, inside the barrel tube (2) intended for firing cartridges, a known diametral reducer (7), as illustrated in FIG. 5, intended for firing bullets of the same caliber or of different gauge from those used in the striped tube (1). This reducer (7) can be eccentric or concentric with respect to the axis of the tube (2) to obtain either an annular percussion or an axial percussion.

 According to the invention, this reducer (7) receives at its end a fixed ring (8) centered externally in the bore of the tube (2) and integral with rods (9 and 10) arranged in parallel and housed in the interior of the front part of the tube (2).

 Wads (11) are freely mounted on the rods (9 and 10) preferably at regular intervals, and held two by two by coil springs (R) or by spacer rings engaged respectively on each rod (9 and 10). Each flock (11) forms an opening (11a) for the passage of the ball and transverse openings or windows (11b) preferably offset so as to constitute, in combination with the spacing between the flocks, a plurality of baffles or chambers gas expansion in order to reduce the intensity of the sound generated during the firing.

 According to the embodiment illustrated in a variant in FIG. 10, the sound moderator can be produced independently of its reducing part in the case of rifle barrel tubes.

 For this purpose, the flocks (11) are housed in the bore of a projecting tube (12) cylindrical or conical, itself screwed at the end of the barrel (13) of the rifle. These flocks (11) are directly connected two by two by coil springs (14) housed in said tube (12). Radial openings or vents (12a) are also provided in the thickness of the tube (12) between the flocks (11) while an end plug (15) fitted at the end of the bore of said tube (12) ensures the maintenance of all the wads (11) It should also be noted that a sleeve (16) made of flexible material is also mounted to cover the tube (12) for the sole purpose of perfecting the sound insulation.

 The invention is in no way limited to that of its modes in plication any more than to those of the embodiments of its various parts having been more especially indicated; on the contrary, it embraces all its variants.

CLAIMS with flasks (11) sound moderator V For fitting or not into the cartridge tube in order to obtain two guns authorizing the firing of bullets. -1- Device for coupling and orienting tubes of juxtaposed barrels, of different calibers, with sound-reducing reducer, for hunting rifles or other weapons, characterized in that it comprises an auxiliary covering tube (4) centered at its rear end on a bulged outer surface (la) of the barrel tube (1) of small diameter intended for shooting bullets and fixed at the end on the hoop (3); said tube (4), connected externally to the juxtaposed tube (2), intended for firing a cartridge, by the longitudinal strip (5), allowing due to the large clearance formed between its bore and the external profile of the barrel tube (1) , 1 extreme engagement of an eccentric plug (6) whose rotation allows adjustment of the impact of the mouth of said tube (1) relative to the tube (2); said plug (6) being fixed after adjustment; a reduction -2- Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the covering tube (4) has externally and internally the same profile and dimensioning as the juxtaposed barrel tube (2) drawn by shooting cartridges, in order to allow externally the fixing of the strip (5), sighting device, rise, grenadière, ..., and internally the formation of a circular play at the front. -3- Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the eccentric plug (6) has a shoulder bearing (6a) to center in the end of the auxiliary tube (4) integral with the cartridge tube (2), while that its longitudinal opening is eccentric to fit onto a bearing surface established at the end of the canoe tube (1) of small diameter, so as to allow adjustment in all directions of its mouth relative to said auxiliary tube (4), ledi plug (6) being fixed by brazing on one or the tubes (4 and 1) after this adjustment of the impact. -4- Device according to claim 1, characterized in that the reducer (7) optionally engaged in the cartridge tube (2) receives at the front a fixed ring (8) integral with parallel rods (9 and 10) s' extending in the free front part of said tube (2), said rods allowing the engagement of flocks (11) arranged in spacing and held in pairs by struts or coil springs engaged respectively on each desditestiges (9 and 10). -5- Device according to claim 4, characterized in that each flock (11) forms an opening (lla) for the passage of the ball and transverse windows (llb) offset perpendicularly to form in combination with the spacing included between the flocks (11) a plurality of baffles or gas expansion chambers. -6- Device according to claims 4 and 5, characterized in that alternatively the flocks (11) are housed in the bore of a tube (12) screwed at the end of the barrel tube in the case of rifle said flocks (11) being connected two by two by coil springs (14), while the openings or vents drilled radially in the thickness of the tube (12) open outwardly into the bore of a sleeve (16) covering ; an end plug (15) of flexible material ensuring the maintenance of the flocks (11) in the interior of the tube (12). -7- Device according to claim 6, characterized in that the tube (12) is cylindrical or conical externally.
