Abstract

The suspension comprises a yoke (2) in the form of an inverted, elongated 'U', having at its open end a clamp carrying jaws which engage in grooves in the contact wire (8). The clamp is made up of two plates (3,3') drilled to permit passage of the two ends of the yoke, and having a rectangular plan projection. The plates are curved one towards the other along two opposite sides of the rectangle. The curved edges of two facing plates meet above the wire, and the lower edges form jaws which clamp grooves in the contact wire. The other two edges of each plate are bent inward to form lugs having an eye drilled to permit passage of a pin (4) which holds the two jaws together and provides the pivot for the clamping action.
