Abstract

The lightweight prefabricated construction panel comprises a core made out of a mixture of liquid and powder to which e.g. granular materials are added. When set, an outer dressing is applied to the core to suit the application to which the panel is to be put. A typical finished panel is 4cm. thick has a specific weight of 40 kg/square meter, but the density can be varied by the addition of different materials to the setting liquid. The setting process is relatively rapid, being of the order of a matter of hours. The panels are pref. installed between wooden members (11) attached to the floor and ceiling.
