Abstract

The metal frame for a door or window comprises an upper cross-member and a lower cross-member (1) which are interconnected by two uprights (2). The lower cross-member incorporates a lip (4) along its inner edge, the ends (11) of which extend into channels (7) formed along the inner edges of the uprights (2). A seal (17) is positioned between the lip (4) of the lower cross-member (1) and the inner window frame. The rear edge (20) of the seal (17) extends vertically upwards from a horizontal intermediate section (18) and engages into a longitudinal slot in the inner window frame.
