Abstract

The ashtray for a vehicle comprises a body (1) having recesses (2) in its rear and lower faces which receive a support bracket (3). The bracket incorporates holes (4) for mounting screws and a protuberance (5) which on installation engages into a cavity (6) in the body. The upper open face of the body is covered by a lid (10) pivoting about its rear edge which bears onto projections (12) along the top of the rear face of the body to hold the lid open. On closing, a clip (11) on the front edge of the lid (10) bears against the front face of the body to hold the lid shut.
