Abstract

A clothes drier comprising pendant racks on a tubular stand stabilised by a pivoting crossbar with castors is provided with a spring metal clamp to hold the crossbar at right angles to the main frame for when the frame is freestanding. The spring metal clamp has a twisted S profile which allows the crossbar to be aligned closely across the main frame when collapsed for storage. Pref. the legs of the crossbar and the main frame comprise inverted 'U' profile members, terminating in casters. The transverse members comprise twin bars coupled by a common pivot rod.
