Abstract

The instrument for comparing distances in games of bowls has a base (A) that supports a removable bracket (C) that can slide vertically on it. A head (D) joined to the bracket can pivot horizontally through 360 degrees round a vertical axle (G) and vertically through 90 degree round an axle perpendicular to this. A telescopic rod (E) is joined to the head and a case (F) containing the tape is also joined to the head so that the tape can be unrolled parallel to and above the rod. An interchangeable fork (B) is joined to the base for centring the jack.
