Abstract

The invention relates to a device for detecting the distances from the bowls to the jack in bowls games like jeu de pétanque or similarly designed games. Said device essentially consists of two components. The device is fixed over the jack without touching said jack. The distance to a bowl is detected by extending a flat stripe from the upper component. The distance to another bowl is subsequently detected by turning the upper component of the device with the extended flat stripe and by means of direct comparison, whereby the fixed position of the tool is not changed. It is known that, during the game, the distance of the individual bowls to the jack is decisive for the course and the score of a game. The advantage of the invention is that the distances can be exactly detected by means of a simple measuring method and without touching the bowls or the jack.
