Abstract

The bottom (19) of a transport container (25) made of cardboard or the like can be connected to a pallet (10) made of solid material, such as wood. In this case, the bottom (19) is attached to the upper side of the pallet (10). Leaf flaps (23, 24) of the bottom can be pivoted up and thus inserted through a bottom cutout in the container (25) into the interior thereof, whereupon they are anchored by folding them back behind bottom cutouts of the container. In order to design such a releasable connection in a more simple manner and to secure it against displacement, the bottom (19) is attached to the pallet (10) by means of cap bolts (15). The cap bolts (15) pass through the bottom (19) with a free fit whereas they are received in the pallet (10) with press sit. This produces a secure, releasable and easily reproducible fit of the container (25) on the pallet (10) without the risk of tearing, as is the case in known clip connections.

Description

 invention relates to a transport container made of cardboard, corrugated cardboard or a similar foldable material, namely a container whose bottom can be connected to a wooden pallet, compressed impregnated wood or a similar material, namely a container, in which a first bottom section of said container, articulated on the upper face of the pallet can be, by means of a cut-out of the bottom of the container, inserted into the interior thereof and by the closure of said bottom cutout, be applied from above against a second bottom section of the container.

 In many respects a transport container of this kind, which is moreover well known, has given good results in practice, west states (see utility model / German 78 16691) in particular because of the cardboard combination corrugated-container / pallet, which offers a wide range of uses and also because of the excellent stackability of containers in an empty state, due to the fact that the storage volume is minimal. In known containers, there have nevertheless been noted drawbacks insofar as the fixing of the first bottom section to the pallet is effected by means of U-shaped staples or by using similar fixing means. The fixing areas thus created can only be released at the cost of certain difficulties, which arise when the container / pallet composite system is to be lifted again. This release cannot practically be carried out without damaging the carton in a certain measure. Frequently during use, similar damage also occurs by tearing or tearing off the fixing pads when, for example during transport, the transport container collides with other solid objects, the relatively thin staples exert on the high strength soft cardboard which then produces the above-mentioned damage. If the holes widen in the area of the fixing areas, there is a risk not only of completely tearing off such attachment areas but also of moving the container, so that the side walls protrude from the edge of the pallet, which, when the containers are moved for example by means of fork lifts, degrades, in the event of collisions, the walls in particular in the areas of the corners and edges. Because of the difficulties encountered when removing by pulling fastening clips, it has, moreover generally rel-O-.eC so far to release the aforementioned composite system and thus to use the container several times.

 This is why the inventor assigned himself the task of creating a container for transporting the germ described above, namely a container which makes it possible to manufacture in a simple manner a composite system, container / pallet, detachable and protected against all displacement.

 As shown in the invention, it s. solved its problem in the sense that in the articulation area, the first bottom section and the sl.lpérieur face of the pallet are provided with recesses to receive the head fixing bolts, these recesses overlapping in the position of mounting of the container, this while the diameters of the recesses in the first bottom section correspond essentially to those of the bolt bodies and that the diameters of the pallet recesses are smaller than those of the bolt bodies to an extent such that the bodies of bolts can be received with a tight fit, and the head bolts have the shape of spherical rivet head plugs with large radius and are provided with axial grooves extending at least over part of the length of their bodies.

 The advantages which the invention makes it possible to obtain consist in particular in that a substantially more secure connection is obtained from the container to the underlying base and that the mounting of the container on the underlying base of the pallet can be notably simplified, but that the connection necessary for this purpose can at the same time be easily broken, which means that the container and the pallet can be used several times.

 In order that the arrangement of the cap caps does not in any way affect the integrity of the space available inside the container, the cap heads can be in the form of spherical head rivets with large radius, so that practically they barely detach from the bottom surface, all the more so since there is some indentation in the pressed cardboard anyway.

 The plugs with a large radius spherical head are preferably made of polyolefin, namely polyethylene or polypropylene. Such a material, in particular ND-fE (polyethylene, low pressure) has the advantage that, having these polyolefins, the necessary resistances are achieved on the one hand and the desirable deformations on the other hand. Compared to the metal of the staples used, this material is practically incorruptible. It also has a surface that minimizes the risk of accidents and the danger of being injured.

 In a special embodiment, well known per se of the invention, the transport container has a first bottom section surrounding two wing-shaped wings pivotable in parallel grooved lines and gripping second sections of the rear facing bottom, which first bottom section is fixed to the pallet by means of a toto plug in the middle section located between the grooved lines, while, according to the invention, this fixing is carried out by means of dgun or several head plugs and that, to facilitate the installation of the container on the bottom section fixed to the pallet, it is advantageous that the first of the two leaves can be provided with ur. clamping fold and the second leaf of a recess for receiving the clamping fold, this to facilitate the installation of the container on the bottom section, fixed to the pallet. Compared to the well-known arrangements, it is thus possible, without having to resort to special fixing means such as additional staples or by holding the two wing-shaped leaves by hand, while the container is being placed, hold upwards. in the form of a roof, the wing wings, while obtaining by the simplest means, their attachment to each other, namely by means which allow at the same time rapid detachment when the assembly of the composite system mentioned above is finished.

 In a method of manufacturing a container for transporting pallets of cardboard, corrugated cardboard or a similar foldable material, in which the bottom of the container is connected to a wooden pallet, of compressed impregnated wood or of a similar material, while a first bottom section, provided with foldable side wings in the shape of a wing and separated by a main part of the container, (this section being associated with a medium section situated between these wing shaped wings) is articulated with the upper side of the pallet, while the wing-shaped leaves are folded upwards and held in this position and while, via a bottom cutout in the main part of the container, they are brought together to this, on which part the wing-shaped leaves are brought into a position which applies them against a second bottom section located at the top of the container, it is proposed according to the invention, that the recesses ements provided in the first bottom section and the recesses made in the upper surface of the pallet overlap, that the first bottom section is fixed to the pallet by head plugs which can be introduced with sliding adjustment by passing through its own recesses and with a tight fit in the pallet recesses and then the wing-shaped flaps are folded upwards and held one against the other by means of a folding tab stamped in these flaps, this tab engaging with a recess in the other leaf, so that the first bottom section can be introduced into the main part of the container.

 Such a manufacturing method to be used for mounting transport containers of corrugated cardboard is particularly simple, since the fixing locations are already determined in advance, while the recesses made in the surface of the pallet just like those made in the first bottom section, are "prefabricated" and so it is no longer left to possibly untrained personnel, the care to choose the places where the bottom of the container is fixed relative to the pallet. The fixing is done after the pose to carry out in a simple way and after having put the holes one in front of the other, in such a way that they overlap, then by simply driving in the holes, the plugs toto for example by means of 'a hammer, the number of fixing locations having been previously given. There will generally be two and three such fixing locations, depending on the size of the container. The two wing-shaped leaves are then folded upwards and fixed to each other by means of the stamping tab, this in such a way that at present the main part separated from the container does not yet need to be driven by means of the cutouts except in the middle of these wing-shaped leaves and in the raised position, while the holding position momentary is released from above by a simple lifting of the folding tab and that the wing-shaped flaps are brought to the second bottom section of the main part of the container to be placed at the rear.

 The attached schematic drawing makes it possible to explain in more detail examples of execution of the invention.

 A pallet 10 can have any traditional shape. The pallet 10, shown in fig.1, thus has three parallel longitudinal beams 11, 12 connected to support beams 13, parallel by means of support blocks 14. Such a pallet is generally made of wood. However, compressed wooden impregnated pallets 10 are also used, as can in principle be seen in FIG. 3 for example.

 On the upper face of the pallet 10, there is placed a bottom element 19 of corrugated cardboard, namely an element containing a first bottom section. This element 19 consists of a narrow median section 20, connected to the median beam 12 in the longitudinal median zone of the pallet 10. The wing leaves 23 and 24 which, together and through the median surface of the median section 20, approximately cover the bottom surface of the pallet 10, are hinged to the middle section 20 by means of grooved lines 21. They are narrower than the outer contours of the pallet 10 and this has a length equal to the thickness corrugated cardboard.

 The middle section 20 of the bottom element 19 is connected to the longitudinal middle beam 12 of the pallet 10 by means of head plugs 15 which pass right through the recesses 16, formed in the bottom element 19 and are introduced into the pallet recesses 17 in which they are fixed with a close fit. The recesses 16 surround the upper parts of the body 154 with head plugs 15 so as to form a positive connection. The heads 152 of the head plugs 15 are in the form of a spherical rivet head with a large radius, so that they hardly deviate from the plane of the middle section 2C. As seen in fig. 4, the head plugs 15 are provided with axial grooves 153 over the greater part of the length of their bodies 151, these grooves forming a cross in cross section over the greater part of this length.

 In the bottom view, shown in fig. 2, of a container 25, the longitudinal walls 30 and the transverse walls 31 of said container are recognized, which, as also the other parts of the container, are part of a blank of corrugated cardboard which can be manufacture by stamping in a continuous operation, this by a process in which we can see another advantage of the invention. By means of corresponding grooved lines, it is articulated to the longitudinal walls 30 of the longitudinal bottom flaps 34 and to the transverse walls 31 of the transverse bottom leaves. the leaves 34 and 35 extend only over a minimal part of the total surface of the bottom element 19 as well as of the bottom surface of the container 25. the bottom surface which has the internal dimensions of the container 25 corresponds essentially the dimensions of the bottom element 19. the leaves 34 and 35 can thus leave free a rectangular central opening 38, formed in the bottom of the container.

 Between the transverse wings 35, there are provided centrally notches 39 which extend to the corresponding transverse wall 31.

 It is in FIG. 3 that we can best see how the container 25 is placed on the pallet 10 and how it is fixed on it. the bottom element 19 is placed on the upper face of the pallet 10, in such a way that the recesses 16 formed in the bottom element 19 cover the pallet recesses 17. the four head plugs 15 are then placed in the recesses 16 then driven with a hammer in the pallet recesses 17. The leaves 23 and 24 are then folded upwards around the grooved lines 21 then, by the intervention of a folding tab 231, stamped on the leaf 23 in wing stopped in a roof-shaped position in a recess 241, made in the leaf 24. On the wing leaves 23 and 24, placed at such a height, the container 25 can now be placed on the pallet by means of the notches 39, which allows the wing flaps 23 and 24 to reach the interior of the container 25. the longitudinal bottom flaps 34 and the transverse bottom flaps 35 place the container on the pallet 10. Now the connection 231, 241 between the two bat tants in wing 23 and 24 is broken and the latter are folded back in the direction of the longitudinal leaves 34, so that the bottom leaves 34 and 35 are immobilized between the wing leaves 23 and 24 and the surface of the pallet 10.

 The container 25 is thus connected to the pallet 10 so as to be easily detachable, such a release being effected by a reverse route by folding up the wing flaps 23 and 24, removing the container 25 and then withdrawing subsequently from their recesses 16 and 17 the head plugs 15, so that it is then possible to have, each time at its disposal, for another use, the two parts 19 and 25 of the container and the pallet 10.

 FIG. 4 finally shows in view and on the right side when viewed from below, a cap with head 15 made of polyethylene ND (low pressure), used to fix a bottom element 19 on the pallet 10. Below a head 152, having the shape of a spherical rivet head with a large radius, the body 151 of the head plug is divided into two parts: the cylindrical upper part 154 and the lower part 1 55 provided with axial grooves. This lower part 155 ends by forming a cross in cross section. The height of the cylindrical part 154 essentially corresponds to the thickness of the cardboard of the bottom element 19 and its diameter to that of the recesses 16 in the bottom element 19. Since the diameter of the recesses 17 of the pallet is somewhat more small than the diameter of the part 155 of the cross-shaped plug body of the cross-section, a tight fit is obtained when the head plug 15 is pressed into the pallet 10. At its inner end, the body 151 has a slight draft (taper) to facilitate hammer insertion into the pallet recesses 1 7.

Method of manufacturing a pallet transport container  made of cardboard, corrugated cardboard or other similar material  collapsible, i.e. a process in which the bottom of the container  is connected to a wooden pallet (10), impregnated wood, com  award-winning or similar material, while a first  bottom section (19), provided with foldable side wings  (35) wing-shaped (23, 24) and separated by the main part  lid of a container is hinged to the upper surface  of the pallet (10) with a medium section (20) located  between these wing-shaped leaves, that the leaves in for  wing wings (23, 24) are folded up and held in place  this position, as also gathered at the main part  of the container via a bottom cutout  (38), of said part, after which the leaves in  wing shape (23, 24) are brought into a position which  apply against a second bottom section to the game  main container, characterized in that the  fixing recesses (16), provided in the first section  bottom (19) and corresponding recesses (17) preprati  that in the surface of the pallet (10) overlap, that  the first bottom section (19) is fixed to the pallet (10)  by head plugs (15) which can be adjusted  sliding through the recesses (16) of this section (19) and fitting into the recesses (17) of the pallet (10) and then the wing-shaped flaps (23, 24) are folded up and that they are held together by means of a folding tongue (231) stamped in said leaves, namely by means of a tongue engaged in a recess (241) formed in the other leaf (24), after which the first bottom section (19) is introduced into the main part of the co-container.
