Abstract

Hollow of panels of polycarbonate having a shallow 'U' profile and with borders shaped to engage tongue-and-groove fashion are reinforced by at least one rigid insert fitted into a longitudinal channel within the panel. The inserts may be of metal or a rigid plastics material, prefabricated or injected in situ. The extra support increases the area of panels which can be self-supporting horizontally without sagging.
