Abstract

The fireplace (1) is fitted with stainless steel heat exchangers (3-6). The primary heat exchanger (3) is L-shaped, with a horizontal section, which contains the water inlet (7) under the fire and a vertical section at the back of the fire. Above the fire, under the hood (2) are three or more heat exchangers (4-6) arranged so that the hot products of combustion follow a turbulent path over them as they rise to the chimney. The waterways of the heat exchangers also have baffle plates to impart turbulent flow to the water which leaves the heat recuperator through an outlet.
