Abstract

The bar with eyelets in it is for threading a lace, such as a shoe lace, through as a fastening for clothing or shoes. The bar consists of a flexible strip of plastics (3) and a series of metal eyelets (4) each of which has an arm (4a) embedded in the strip (3). The eyelets (4) are pref. made of nickel-plated brass. The plastic constituting the strip (3) is moulded onto the fixture arms (4a) for the eyelets (4).

Description

 The present invention relates to an eyelet bar, intended to receive a. lace to equip various articles such as shoes and clothing, two bars being sewn to the shoe or to the garment opposite one another and each receiving a lace.

 Are already known eyelet bars made of a single piece of molded plastic.

These bars have the advantage of being flexible thanks to the thinness of the plastic strip and of being able to be easily sewn to the part on which they are to be fixed. In addition, these bars reduce to two the number of pieces which must be attached to the shoe or to the garment, while this number generally varied between six and sixteen according to the number of eyelets used in the prior art, which accelerates considerably. seriously the installation of said parts.

However, the plastic eyelets of these bars do not have all the desirable solidity and end up breaking after a certain period of service, so that the corresponding bar must be replaced. In addition, the lights made in these plastic eyelets can not exceed a certain section because if one excessively increases the diameter of these lights, it harms the necessary flexibility of the plastic strip constituting the bar.

 This correlatively limits the size of the laces that can be placed on these bars.

 The object of the invention is to remedy these drawbacks by producing a bar having greater solidity while retaining the desirable flexibility, and which can also receive larger laces.

 According to the invention, the eyelet bar is formed by the combination of a flexible plastic band and a series of metal eyelets each having a branch embedded in the band, the plastic material of which is overmolded on the branches fixing eyelets.

 The bar according to the invention thus advantageously combines the flexibility and ease of sewing offered by the plastic band, and the solidity of the metal eyelets, which have a D shape.

Other features and advantages of the invention will become apparent from the description which follows. In the accompanying drawings, given by way of nonlimiting example, an embodiment of the bar according to the invention has been shown.

 The eyelet bar shown in Figures 1 and 2 is intended to receive a lace, such as one of the laces 1 which is provided with a shoe 2 (Figure 3).

But the bar can equip various articles other than shoes, for example: clothing, shorts, blouses, etc.

 the bar is formed by the comèinaisoe of a flexible plastic band 3 and a series of metal eyelets 4 each having a branch 4a embedded in the band 3. The constituent plastic material is overmolded on the branches 4a for fixing the eyelets.

Preferably, the eyelets 4 are made of nickel-plated brass.

 Two bars identical to the bar visible in FIGS. 1 and 2 can be mounted facing each other by cutting on the article under consideration, for example the shoe 2 visible in FIG. 3, to receive the laces 1, and this so that only the eyelets 4 are visible outside, the plastic bands 3 being sewn in a manner known per se to the article.

The bar according to the invention has the desired flexibility thanks to the thin strip 3 of plastic, and on the other hand also the desirable solidity for the eyelets 4, since the latter are metallic. Another advantage of this bar comes from the fact that the openings 5 of the eyelets 4 can have dimensions greater than the eyelets of the bars entirely molded in plastic material, and consequently receive larger laces, as already indicated above.

In addition, the thickness of a D-shaped eyelet 4 is less than that necessary for a plastic eyelet, which reduces the size of the bar.

 The invention is not limited to the embodiment described and may include alternative embodiments. Thus, it is obvious that the eyelets 4 can be made of any suitable metal or alloy, other than nickel-plated brass. Likewise, the shape of the eyelets can naturally vary. It will be noted that the strip 3 of plastic material has, between two consecutive eyelets 4, a narrowing in width 6 'intended to facilitate the sewing of the bar on the article, the width of this narrowed part 6 being able to be variable.

 1 - Eyelet bar, intended to receive a lace to equip various articles such as shoes and clothes, characterized in that it is constituted by the combination of a flexible plastic band and a series of metal eyelets each having a branch embedded in the strip, the plastic material of which is overmolded on the attachment branches of the eyelets. 2 - Bar according to claim 1, characterized in that the eyelets are made of nickel-plated brass.
