Description

Lacing member It is known that the lacing members which may have the shape of a hook or a ring are usually made of metal by means of one or more stamped, stamped or necked parts and, where appropriate , riveted or welded together.

It has also been proposed to cover, partially, with celluloid or a similar material, hooks or rings made in the manner just mentioned, the celluloid then being applied to the ring or hook of metal.

The present invention relates to a lacing member designed in a different way and which is characterized by a body of plastic material, for example a synthetic resin based on polyamides, having a wide opening and integral with a fixing device.

Said plastic body is preferably molded on the fixing device which is formed by a riveting eyelet whose coated end has been closed beforehand by an overhanging crimped cap which also ensures the solidity of the connection between the body and the eyelet.

In addition to its ease of manufacture, the lacing member which is the subject of the invention offers interesting possibilities of production from the point of view of form and appearance. In particular, it makes it possible to provide the lace with large rounded support surfaces which, on ordinary hooks or rings, can only be obtained by folds in the metal or extra thicknesses which complicate the manufacture or increase the weight of the object.

In addition, the organ which is the subject of the invention can be fitted with the machines or apparatus commonly used for known hooks or rings.

The accompanying drawing, given by way of example, represents two embodiments of the object of the invention.

Figs. 1, 2 and 3 are views taken from three different angles of a member in the form of a ring produced according to the invention. Figs. 4, 5 and 6 are similar views of a member having the shape of a hook.

Fig. 7 is a sectional view, on a larger scale, according to VII-VII of FIGS. 3 or 6. In the embodiments shown in the drawing, the hook or ring comprises a body 1 made of plastic material, such as a polyamide-based resin, which comprises a recess 2 in the form of a channel (ring) or in the form of a deep groove (hook).

In both cases, the pillar (s) 3 which unite the top of the hook or the ring to the base 4 of the body, have large rounded spans 3a which prevent the lace from being cut. The body 1 is integral with a fastening device formed of a riveting eyelet 5 to which it is fixed, preferably by molding.

Advantageously, as shown in FIG. 7, the # riveting eyelet 5 has an edging collar 6 on which, prior to its meeting with the body 1, a flattened metal cap 7 is crimped which, on the one hand, closes the end of the eyelet 6 and, on the other hand, reinforces the connection between the body 1 and said eyelet.

As has already been said, the hook or ring thus produced can be placed just like a usual hook or ring and with the same machines or apparatus.
