Abstract

The beak guard is made from a flexible plastics and comprises a boat-shaped cover which is longer than the bird's beak and has smooth rounded ends (2,3). It is used inverted, the open side downwards and has a front (8) and a smaller rear (9) aperture for aeration and breathing. A small hole (5) is provided each side, opposite each other, used for inserting a single fixing pin (4). This has a ball (6) at one end and a flexible tang (7) at the other end. The cover is loosely fitted over the bird's upper mandible.

Description

Domaine technique.Technical area.

The present invention relates to a device annihilating the aggressive use of the beak of a bird, consisting of an upper mandible cover, longer than the latter,
and fixed to it by the transverse insertion of a
single pin in the middle part of the device, said
pin passing through the mandible cover, the nostrils and the nasal septum to emerge from the other side.

Problème posé.Problem.

When birds are raised in high concentrations and they are confined in an aviary, their mutual aggressiveness 8 'worsens and they injure each other. The aim of these concentrations is to be able to raise these birds properly so that they can be released into the wild. This is the case with pheasants.

It is therefore necessary to find a device making it possible to prevent them from being able to attack each other.

Etat de la technique antérieure et inconvénients.State of the prior art and drawbacks.

We have already placed upper mandible covers which are fixed by driving a pin into the nostrils. The second pin is pressed down to hold the device under the upper mandible in the opening of the spout. This device has the disadvantage of deforming the spout.

qu'ils recouvrent.
We also planned the devices that cover
the narrow baleen beak. They have the disadvantage of hindering
ltolseau, in particular by the lack of ventilation in the areas
that they cover.

Devices have also been made in the form of a dihedral, made of flexible plastic, such as polyethylene and which are fixed by a pin in the nostrils and a pin under the spout. They deform the beak and the point of the dihedral still presents a possibility of attack.

We also made species of skeleton muzzles which completely cover the upper mandible but their flxatlon and their robustness leaves something to be desired; they are also of no help for bird food and their flexibility makes them lose efficiency. All of these devices cause discomfort to the bird when it feeds.

The present invention is intended to remedy these various drawbacks.

Exposé de l'invention. Statement of the invention.

The device of the invention is mainly characterized by the fact that the fixing pin has a guard by limiting the sinking, and an elastic barb at its tip, to prevent withdrawal, and that the device itself has a shape in gutter with rounded outline with days on the top but not on the extreme front and the sides, the shape of the device marrying the shape of the top of the upper mandible and the frontal part of the bird.

In addition, the device of the invention comprises a large day towards the tip of the beak and a smaller day slightly behind the nostrils, while it has a small oval hole on each of its sides, the two small oval holes being in relation to each other to let the pin pass with its pin.

Solution au problème, åvantages et résultat industriel.Solution to the problem, advantages and industrial result.

The device of the invention has the advantage of being fixed to only one pin which leaves it floating, that is to say that it can oscillate around the pin while not being firmly applied to the spout as are the existing similar devices. There is therefore less discomfort to the bird and good ventilation of the covered areas.

Its shape in gutter with rounded outline avoids all possibilities of aggression and, moreover, allows the bird to use it like a scoop when it feeds on grains. Its food is therefore facilitated since it uses the device like a spoon.

It should also be noted that the installation of the device is facilitated by the fact of the presence of a single pin. The rounded shape follows the shape of the beak so it does not deform it.

It has also been found that the rounded shape prevents spawners from breaking their eggs and eating them.

The invention will be better understood using the following description which gives a non-limiting example. of practical realization and which is illustrated by the attached drawings.

DescriDtion d'un mode de réalisation. Description of an embodiment.

The device consists of a curved plate 1 in the shape of a gutter with its two rounded ends 2 and 3. The plate 1, or covering mandibles, is longer than the mandible of the bird on which it is to be placed. It is fixed to the bird by the lateral insertion of a pin'4 which passes through the nostrils and the nasal septum; the passage of the pin 4 through the mandible cover 1 is made by oval holes such as 5.

The mandible 4 has a guard 6 having the shape of a ball and a pin 7 which is elastic. Besides, the pin 4 is entirely made of elastic material, for example polyethylene, just like the mandible cover 1.

The mandible cover 1 has a shape which roughly covers the mandible but with a certain clearance which gives good ventilation but provides protection. Aeration is facilitated by a large Day before 8 and a small Day back 9 which both have the shape of a circular hole.

As can be seen, the front part of the mandible cover 1 is in the form of a scoop or a spoon which the bird uses to absorb food.
