Abstract

Device for preventing feathered animals from pecking at each other with their beaks in farms. It comprises two lateral cheeks 1 and 2 arranged on either side of the bird's beak and having holes 3 and 4 through which the tie is passed through the animal's nostrils, and a connecting bar 5 joins the cheeks together. A second connecting element 6 in the form of a hairpin, on the outside and to the fore of the beak, radically suppresses pecking.

Description

The present invention relates to a device intended to prevent feathered animals from biting each other, with pecks (so-called cannibalism disorder), in farms.

We know, in addition to debeaking 8 repetitions, other devices against pecking, but they have the following disadvantages
SPOUT COVERS - Plastic or metallic, they are very difficult to bear for birds, and more particularly in young subjects of 8 weeks (age of laying), stress, difficulty in feeding, deformation of the beak.

Stress très important, gaspillage de la nourriture.EYEGLASSES - Made of plastic and less effective than other devices, the telescope causes numerous accidents in birds which, not seeing in front of them, run into obstacles in their flight. Very important stress, waste of food.

The big difficulty for breeders is to ensure effective and continuous protection between 8 weeks and the adult.

The ring is valid only jtsqutà 8 weeks, then it is necessary to place an intermediate device (telescope or cap) of progressive sizes which follow the evolution of the beak dr ltoiseau, hence repeated handling.

The present invention aims to eliminate all the drawbacks mentioned above. It makes it possible, in fact, to obtain a light device, easy to apply after 4 weeks (reduced model) and at 8 weeks (adult model), with optimum protection against pecking, throughout the 'breeding. Also very well supported by birds, because it leaves the top of the beak and the view completely free.

To obtain these results, the invention formed from plastic or metallic material and as shown in Figure I, comprises 2 lateral cheeks (I and 2) intended to be alongside the bird's beak and each provided with a hole (3 and 4 for the passage of the harpoon in the nostrils of the animal, a connecting bar (5) fixedly connecting the cheeks and being in the position of use inside the beak.

A second connecting element (6) in the form of a hairpin, intended to be located outside and at the front of the spout, by design eliminates pecking radically.

FIG. 2 represents the invention seen from above with positioning of the harpoon.

Figure 3 shows the invention placed on the beak of the bird, by means of a harpoon.

This device, object of the invention, can be used in all gallinaceous farms.
