Abstract
Fourneau destiné à réduire le volume de pièces usées ayant été irradiées. Une couche tampon 75 revêtant le fond de la cuve 51 du fourneau comporte une surface supérieure 75b dans laquelle est réalisée une cavité 76 dans laquelle les déchets radio-actifs subissent la fusion. Ces déchets tombent dans cette cavité par un cylindre guide 80 dans ladite cavité et cette couche tampon évite les dégâts pouvant être causés à la cuve par le choc pouvant être produit par les pièces arrivant en chute libre. Application par exemple à la réduction en grenaille ou en petits lingots de pièces ou de revêtements inutilisables provenant de centrales nucléaires.
