Abstract

In the vehicle seat construction a simple suspension system is used. It includes a gas tight envelope which is deformable, but not flexible to define the cushions. This is inflated by gas and has two connections, each with a tap control. A pump is connected to one connection and a pneumatic accumulator is connected to the other. The pipes can deform, but are not flexible. The envelope is at the back of the cushion and can have a covering of foam plastics to protect it.
