Abstract
The modular system is for constructing a control system in accordance with the DIN standard representation of control elements. Each block of the system comprises an electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic implementation of a standard logic function and each block is associated with a standard graphic symbol for that function, which may be drawn on the block. Each module has signal input and output connections, designed so that output terminals may be plugged into input blocks. Terminals are also provided to activate and passivate each block. When all the blocks are assembled the graphic symbols meet to form a complete diagram of the constructed system. Advantages occur in no requirement for cabling or piping, less skilled labour required for assembly, and easy inspection.
